Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. ✅See more below for resources for Southern California Veterans and caregivers.
Elder abuse can take many forms — including scams that target older adults and Veterans. By raising awareness and sharing resources, we can help protect our community’s most vulnerable.
Watch out for government imposters:
• Real agencies will never demand immediate payment or ask for gift cards, wire transfers, or crypto.
• They won’t threaten to cut off benefits or pressure you to act fast.
• When in doubt, hang up and call the agency directly using a verified number.
