Honestly...

We don't think we found it.

We think it found us.

We weren't trying to start a business.

We just wanted to enjoy going out to dinner again.

Five years later, it's amazing to look back and realize it all started with one simple question...

This week's ZPE Connect call was all about online friendships.

Today, six of us who first met through the alcohol-free community got together for lunch in Orange County. We laughed for hours, enjoyed some delicious NA bubbles, and were reminded that some of the best friendships really can start with a simple click.

One of my favorite things about this community is watching online connections turn into real-life friendships.

Peggi is an absolute idea factory. Creative, thoughtful, wildly committed, and constantly dreaming up ways to make experiences more meaningful and connected.

We’ve worked hard together this year, traveled a lot of miles, shared countless conversations, and built something we both care deeply about.

Still processing what an incredible weekend this was. ❤️

Honestly, the feeling right now is less exhaustion and more gratitude. Looking through these photos today just gives me the biggest sense of joy and appreciation for this community.

This weekend was once again pretty epic.
One of my favorite little outtakes from the weekend was someone saying:
 “It’s really cool to be around a group of folks that don’t need to drink to get out on the dance floor and just have a great time all day.”

And honestly… that really is the vibe. ✨

What started as a small dinner gathering in Long Beach almost five years ago has grown into something I never fully could have imagined. There is something really powerful about getting people together in beautiful spaces where alcohol simply isn’t the center of the experience.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared openly, laughed loudly, danced, connected, and helped create the energy that made this weekend so special.

We’re excited to be returning to our roots a bit with a more intimate 5-year anniversary dinner party experience this January in Long Beach… and beyond that, there are definitely more things in the works. ✨

I was blessed with a couple of very special ones!❤️❤️❤️

Both of my moms were pretty anti-alcohol in their own ways. Family
I was incredibly lucky to be loved by these two women.

Both of my moms were pretty anti-alcohol in their own ways. Family legend says if the words “Margaret is coming” were whispered at a wedding afterparty, drinks disappeared at record speed. 😂

Over the years, we definitely drank wine out of coffee cups around them more than once… which probably fooled very few..

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized some of those feelings around alcohol probably came from family stories and experiences I never fully understood at the time.

These days, I’m actually alcohol-free myself — but very much not anti-alcohol. I’m happy to be around people who drink and I won’t discourage you from ordering the wine. But if you ever want to take a night (or a weekend) off, I’m your girl.

Mostly today I just feel grateful for how deeply loved I’ve been by both of these women.
