Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is a holiday celebrated on June 19th to commemorate the effective end of slavery in the United States. It marks the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the more than 250,000 enslaved people in Texas were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a time to honor the end of slavery and celebrate African American freedom and culture.

FCS is closed today in observance of Juneteenth.

FCS is hiring multiple positions for a NEW program!

FCS has identified social isolation and loneliness among homebound older adults as a significant and ongoing concern. Through our current programs, FCS encounters seniors with health limitations, mobility challenges, and lack of family support, preventing them from engaging in community based social activities. Lack of community engagement has been identified as a contributing factor to declining overall quality of life in this population.

The new program Senior Wellness works to address this unmet need. We would love for you to join our team.
