Motherhood has been and is such an incredible blessing! It has pushed me to grow and learn more than I ever imagined! Raising humans is no joke, it's hard, joyous, hilarious, painful, exciting, exhausting, and so much more. One of my inspiration for starting Doula At Your Door, has been my own experiences as a mother and witnessing so far many others becoming parents and learning the pains and joys of parenting! Witnessing and holding space is vital! We all need to be validated, understood and respected in our parenting journey! Feeling safe so we can thrive! This is where my passion is, I want to provide nourishment and a safe space for parenting to unfold in all of its glory and messiness! May you feel held and loved on this very special day for all who are mothering and parenting!

Hi, this is Sarah’s husband, Nathan. We’re busy in kitchen today cooking for the Midwives Ball and prepping orders for Mother’s Day brunch but I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

Besides being the cook for Doula At Your Door (and in my home for the last 13 years) I spent many years in the restaurant industry, including 8 years managing and building a small restaurant chain where I put my creativity to use developing menus as well as cooking and organizing large and small catering events.

Since our primary focus is serving postpartum families we take food safety serious. I recently renewed my food safety manager certificate and we cook everything out of a county inspected commercial kitchen in Longmont.

Fun fact: we used to live and work on an organic vegetable farm so eating local is near and dear to our hearts. Our fridge at home is always full with seasonal local produce from our CSA and the farmers market and that’s exactly how we approach our postpartum meals. We’re so grateful for the abundance of organic farms growing nutritious food right here in Longmont.
