Dominique Diatta

Dominique Diatta passed away on May 21, 2026. He is remembered as a gentle family man who never lost his curiosity and his love of learning. Dominique was born on June 11, 1946, to Tafounou and Emmanuel Diatta at Madaoua, Niger. At age 3 he went to Ziguinchor, Senegal, to live with his Grandpa Boula. All his life he had an affinity for Ziguinchor and his first language, Creole. At age 10, his father sent him and 2 brothers Edouard and Joseph (les trois amigos) to France to attend a Catholic boarding school College de Notre Dame de Garrison near Lourdes. Thus, his perfect French! At age 17, he returned to Niger, where he found a big family and he became the understanding and fun big brother and uncle. At age 22, he joined the Niger Army and achieved the rank of Sargeant. He worked in logistics and budget. During his 6 years he visited other African countries for training-- he loved telling these stories. After the army, which included a stellar career playing for the National soccer team, he worked as an accountant for the French company Somair.

In 1972 Dominique met Diann Hoffman, who was a Peace Corps volunteer in Dogondoutchi where his father lived. They married in 1974 and had a son Daniel in 1976. In 1978 they moved to the states - Billings, MT. He quickly learned English, got his American GED, his driver's license, began college at Montana State University to study business. He enjoyed meeting new family members and other foreign students.

In 1996 he and Diann moved to Longmont, CO. He enjoyed teaching French - over the years at elementary, high school and university levels. Several of his family members visited us in Billings and Longmont. He enjoyed some African meals. Some trips to Senegal and Niger were highlights. When Dan came to live in Longmont, he was thrilled...they shared a love of music, movies, tennis, and ping pong. Best Buddies.

A funeral mass will take place at 10 am on June 11, 2026, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont.

Norma Angelica Valdez

Norma Angelica Valdez, was a devoted and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sibling and godmother. It is with a heavy heart that we announce her passing on May 1, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was surrounded in love by her dear family as she took her last breath.

Norma was born on April 26, 1966, in Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Amalio and Irma Garcia.

During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Rene Valdez. Their young love became a lifelong commitment when they married on November 6, 1982, in Platteville, Colorado. Norma was 16 and Rene was 17 — a true testament to the vows they made when they said “I do.”

Norma found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved going “up the mountain” to gamble, shopping for anything and everything, and taking peaceful walks around McIntosh Lake in Longmont. She enjoyed dancing and spending Sundays at mom’s with Family. Her greatest joy of all was spending time with her grandchildren near and far.

Above all else, Norma loved her family fiercely. She was the rock of the family — the one who planned gatherings, handed out gifts at Christmas, and made sure everyone felt loved and together. Her warmth, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Sharon Ann Parker

In Loving Memory of Sharon Ann Parker (February 8, 1945 – May 2, 2026)

With immense grief and heartbreak, together with an even greater spirit of love, gratitude, and awe for the vibrant life she lived, we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Ann Parker, age 81, in the early morning hours of May 2, 2026.

Sharon was born on February 8, 1945, in Bakersfield, California, the youngest daughter of Roma and Ted Visser. Her early years were rooted in the grounded life of the family farm and dairy alongside her siblings, Raymond, Tony, Thressa, and Sandra. This rural upbringing instilled in her a fierce independence and an early thirst for adventure. From her earliest days, Sharon and Sandra shared a bond that was truly extraordinary. They were each other’s true north, partner in crime, best friend, and beloved sister, remaining deeply and profoundly connected throughout the entirety of their lives.

Reflecting on their beautiful bond and their early escapades, Sandra remembers her as:

"My Sister, My Friend. Always there when I needed her, anywhere she went I followed. My childhood would not have been complete without her always being there. Mom, Sharon, and I would go to Pismo Beach and spend hours playing in the ocean. Sharon would have such a terrible sunburn and Mom would put lotion on, but it didn’t help much. We would swim in the irrigation reservoir, climb trees and I always knew she was there, no matter what. Just the two of us, always."

Climbing trees and swimming in the irrigation reservoir were just the beginning. At the age of 12, Sharon, Sandra, and their mother, Roma, moved to Colorado to be closer to their extended family, opening a new chapter of exploration. It was in Colorado that Sharon met the love of her life, her husband, Patrick. Together, they built a life defined not only by warmth and deep mutual respect but by a shared, highly adventurous spirit. Their marriage was a thrilling partnership; they traveled, sought out new experiences, laughed often, and embraced the unknown with a radiant love that inspired everyone around them.

Above all else, Sharon was a fiercely devoted mother to her beloved sons, James, Loren, and Don. They were the absolute light of her life, and she poured her heart into cherishing every moment with them. She instilled her own boundless zest for life into her boys, teaching them to approach the world with open minds and courageous hearts. Her love and her spirited energy effortlessly expanded to include her daughter-in-law Cindy and cherished grandchildren—Jenna, Katelyn, Christina, and Christopher—as well as her nieces and nephews, all of whom held a uniquely special place in her heart.

Sharon was a woman who found profound beauty in the world's wonders, both simple and thrilling. While she possessed a highly adventurous soul—forever drawn to the vastness of the ocean, the freedom of all animals, and the bright warmth of the sunshine—she was equally grounded by her extraordinary capacity for kindness and compassion. She had a joyful, vibrant presence that lit up a room and a remarkably gentle spirit that made everyone she encountered feel uniquely loved, safe, and deeply cared for.

Sharon Ann Parker will be remembered for her endlessly loving heart, her fearless embrace of life's journeys, and the pure happiness she brought to this world. Her legacy will forever live on in the wild beauty of the ocean breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the boundless, adventurous love she gave so freely to the family and friends she cherished so deeply.

Interment: Foothills Garden of Memory 14241 North 107th Street, Longmont, CO 80504. Graveside service to be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider contributing to your favorite charitable organization. Unconditional Love and compassion for all living creatures is life’s lesson we are all meant to embrace while here. Helping others in need is Sharon’s final request.

Patricia Ann Meade

Patricia Ann Meade passed away peacefully in her home in Longmont Colorado on April 25th, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born Patricia Ann Widger in Nebraska on November 6, 1932, to Paul White Widger and Enid Augusta Page. She lived her formative years on a farm in the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado where her parents and grandparents had homesteaded. When moving from Dodge City Kansas, her grandfather rode on the train with his cattle to be sure they were watered, while Pat and her brother rode with Grandma White, cooking along the roadside. Her father plowed the fields with Clydesdales, and my mother rode a horse to school which was considered affluent in those days. At 14 her family moved to Canyon City Colorado where she met her husband James Austin Meade and many lifelong friends. Her family has been residents of Longmont Colorado since the early 60s.

Being the restless creative force that she was, she and a small group of close-knit friends began the St. Vrain Historical society, still operating today, which saved numerous historical buildings in Longmont including St Stevens Church on main street. They began the Christmas Home Tours, the return of Strawberry festival and Pumpkin Pie days which are rooted in Longmont's Chicago Colony history. These raised money to support the community in many ways. She and her friend began the first travel agency in Longmont, Gold Key Travel. She was on the maiden voyage of the Concord. She never failed to be the home mother at school. In the early 70s she began an interior design and retail shop which remained successful for a number of years until she retired. She was a fiercely protective matriarch and in the face of personal hardships she chose to put scholarship funds together in honor of her two sons who had passed away. She had a brilliant sense of humor, an undaunting sense of duty to her community and a vivacious spirit which could be equaled by few. She is survived by two daughters, Page Meade and Julie Meade, 4 grandchildren Alexis Childs, Bradley Meade, Christopher Meade and Morgan Sakimoto, and 8 great grandchildren Cynthia, Claira, Cecilia and Chris Meade, Ruby Sakimo, Waylon and Wyatt Meade and Ava Meade.

A celebration of life will be hosted at her home at 1508 Longs Peak on Saturday, May 9th, at 1p.m.
