I’m beyond honored to learn that my presentation for PsychedelX 2026 on how trauma-informed and culturally humble practices can be applied to the use of music in psychedelic-assisted therapy has been selected as a finalist for the judged presentation competition. It feels validating to know that others see the value in what I’m researching as part of my doctoral studies as I continue deepening my work in providing preparation and integration services to individuals undergoing this emerging therapeutic approach.

As a significant part of culture, music has the power to affect people's health and well-being in a variety of ways, touching on different domains of health. Because of this, people at every phase of life can respond to, and benefit from, music.

This workshop is geared towards behavioral health providers who would like to better understand how music can benefit their clients.

In this workshop, you'll:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how music impacts people biopsychosocially.

Identify ways that music can both trigger and treat within the realm of behavioral health treatment.

Examine ways that they can incorporate music into their work within their scope of practice.

Recognize situations where consulting with or referring to a qualified music therapist may be warranted.

I'll be offering this online workshop through the Colorado School for Family Therapy, on Saturday, July 27th from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (MST).
