On my personal page, I shared that I wanted to highlight aromatherapists who are actively engaging with the community.
I am very pleased that our inaugural Aromatherapist Spotlight is with Raghda Abdelmaksoud. I had a wonderful spotlight interview with this amazing woman and learned about all the ways she is working in the aromatherapy field locally and globally. While working behind the scenes, she has helped people in several countries and in her own backyard. From her involvement in establishing farm to distillation projects in Egypt to teaching safe use of aromatherapy in VA Homes and hospitals, and her involvement with the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, her aromatherapy knowledge, project management experience, and organizational skills make her an excellent role model for those in the field of aromatherapy. I think it is very important (and very timely) that this interview took place. There are many people in aromatherapy who work very hard behind the scenes, not to elevate themselves and their personal agendas, but for the greater good. Raghda is one such accomplished woman. She conducts herself with thoughtfulness and humility. I am in awe of her accomplishments and of the fact that she remains so humble.
