Maybe you’re not inconsistent.
Maybe you’re trying to create consistency from a place of imbalance.
For years, I thought I lacked discipline.
I could show up for clients.
Meet deadlines.
Finish certifications.
But exercise consistently?
Meditate every day?
Follow through on things that were just for me?
Not so much.
What I’ve come to realize is that consistency isn’t just about willpower.
It’s a nervous system issue.
And from an Ayurvedic perspective, it can also be a Vata issue.
When Vata is high, we crave stimulation, novelty, inspiration, and movement.
We start the project.
Buy the planner.
Join the gym.
And then...
It fizzles.
The irony?
The thing that feels most restrictive—routine—is often the medicine.
A little more rhythm.
A little more repetition.
A little more grounding.
Not perfection.
Just enough consistency to help your nervous system settle.
Because consistency creates consistency.
Every small repeated action teaches your brain:
“This is who we are now.”
Maybe you don’t need more discipline.
Maybe you need a little less Vata.
