As wildfire smoke shifts across our region, taking care of your lungs and heart is our top priority. Smoke contains fine particles that can irritate your eyes, throat, and airways—especially for those with asthma, COPD, heart conditions, expectant mothers, young children, and older adults.

Here are a few gentle reminders to protect yourself today:
• Stay indoors with doors and windows closed when air quality dips.
• Set your HVAC or car AC to recirculate to avoid drawing in outdoor smoke.
• Keep rescue medications close and take maintenance prescriptions as directed.
• Drink plenty of water to keep your airways hydrated and calm irritation.

If you notice worsening shortness of breath, chest tightness, or severe coughing, please do not wait. Contact your care team or visit an emergency room right away.
