A sincere thank you to the wonderful team at Arabella of Longview Senior Living for inviting Home-Aid Caregivers to present an educational talk and host an ice cream social for your residents!
Our presentation, "Normal Aging or Something More? Understanding Brain Changes in Dementia," explored the differences between typical age-related changes and the signs that may indicate dementia or need for further evaluation. Together, we discussed memory, perception, communication, and other brain changes that can occur with dementia, helping attendees better understand what is normal—and when it may be time to seek further evaluation. The educational talk was facilitated by Home-Aid Caregivers' on-staff CARES Dementia Specialist, Tiffany Clements, who is one of only 34 of these specialists in Texas. Tiffany serves as our Care Program Development, Education, and Outreach Specialist in both our Tyler and Longview offices.
Education is one of the most powerful tools we have in reducing fear, increasing understanding, and supporting individuals and families affected by dementia. We are grateful for the opportunity to share this important information with such an engaged and welcoming group.
Thank you, Arabella of Longview, for your hospitality and for partnering with Home-Aid Caregivers to bring dementia education into our community. We look forward to seeing you again!
