💙 Community Update for Our Families:

We know many in our community are carrying heavy hearts following the recent tragedy at Nippon Dynawave. Our thoughts are with all those impacted, including families, friends, coworkers, first responders, and everyone grieving alongside them.

At this time, we recommend relying on trusted, official sources for the most accurate updates:

✔️ WA Dept. of Ecology: https://ecology.wa.gov/spills-cleanup/spills/spill-preparedness-response/responding-to-spill-incidents/spill-incidents/nippon-dynawave-industrial-incident
✔️ Cowlitz County Public Health: https://www.co.cowlitz.wa.us/
✔️ City of Longview: https://mylongview.com/m/NewsFlash/Home/Detail/1312

🩺 What families should know:
• Avoid contact with local waterways (rivers, sloughs, or posted areas)
• Follow all posted safety guidance
• Stay updated through official channels

❤️ Supporting your child:
Children often process tragedy differently than adults. Some may have questions, fears, sadness, or confusion, while others may not know how to express what they are feeling at all. Gentle, calm, and reassuring conversations can help children feel safe and supported during difficult times.

It breaks our hearts to even need to share these resources, but we hope they may offer guidance and support for families personally affected by this tragedy or for those helping children process grief and loss within our community. There is no perfect way to navigate moments like these, and no one should have to carry that weight alone.

Our hearts are with every person grieving the loss of a loved one, friend, coworker, or neighbor. Please know we are holding space for you and your families during this incredibly difficult time.🫂

CAC Longview staff and clinicians are diving into oral health education and having a LOT of fun while doing it!🦷🪥

Primary care teams play such an important role in helping identify oral health concerns early, encouraging healthy habits, and supporting the overall health of our patients. From infancy through adolescence, oral health is closely connected to nutrition, development, chronic disease prevention, confidence, and overall wellbeing.😁

To keep the day engaging, our team decided to fully commit to the experience with some hilarious “dental transformations” of our own. 😂

We are incredibly thankful for a team that is always willing to learn, grow, laugh together, and continue finding ways to better serve the children and families in our community.❤️

If you’ve had the opportunity to know Dr. Smeenk, you know just how truly special she is. We are incredibly grateful for all she does and could not be more proud to see her recognized with this well deserved honor. 🥹✨

Last Sunday, CAC’s own Dr. Amrita Stark was supported by CAC friends as she stepped onto the runway to stand in solidarity with Denim Day and its mission to end victim blaming and support survivors of sexual assault.🫶

Denim Day is a worldwide movement that sends a powerful message that what we wear is never an invitation for harm. It is about raising awareness, breaking stigma, and standing together as a community that believes survivors and supports change.🌎❤️ YWCA Clark County

📚✨ Oh, the fun we had at CAC this week!

Our team had a Seuss-tastic time celebrating Read Across America and Dr. Seuss Week🎩 with colorful outfits, lots of laughter, and plenty of team spirit. 🐟Our staff showed up in fun styles all week long to bring a little extra joy and imagination into the clinic for the kids and families we care for.

At CAC, we believe reading, creativity, and a little silliness are all part of helping kids grow healthy and strong. 🦊🧦It was such a fun week celebrating together and seeing so many smiles.😃

Thank you to our incredible team for always bringing positivity, kindness, and fun to the work you do every day. We truly have the best team! ❤️
