Tonight, history takes the field!
We’re honored to be a part of the 116th meeting of the legendary Longview vs. Marshall rivalry — a tradition that dates all the way back to 1909!

It takes an entire team to keep athletes safe, and tonight, Dr. Trevor Wait, Longview Fire Department paramedics, and Longview athletic trainers are on the sidelines providing care and protection for athletes on both sides of one of Texas’ greatest high school football rivalries.
Proud to serve our athletes, our schools, and our community. 🚑🏥🏈

From the clinic to the sidelines, Dr. Trevor Wait, M.D. is there for East Texas athletes when they need him most. 🏈

A board-certified orthopedist and Longview native, Dr. Wait brings experience as a team physician for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Colorado Rapids to his care of local athletes, providing orthopedic care in the clinic and injury evaluation and support on the sidelines alongside athletic trainers.

Student-athlete heart checks are essential for detecting underlying heart conditions that could put athletes at risk of sudden cardiac arrest. That's why physicians recommend that student-athletes receive a cardiac screening before participating in competitive sports to uncover any hidden issues or health concerns and reduce the chances of sudden death due to undetected heart complications. The more information you have, the more you can focus on your health moving forward and be proactive rather than reactive.

Fall sports are officially underway, and our athletic training teams are ready for the season 💪🏈💜!

Last night, we were on the sidelines for the Pine Tree vs. Gilmer matchup, providing expert athletic training coverage and supporting athletes alongside coaches, athletic trainers and our Mobile Athletic Training Room (MATR), now with a fresh new look.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Trevor Wait was there on the sidelines, joined by athletic trainers Hannah and Kip, Gilmer Head Athletic Trainer Rob, Pine Tree Head Athletic Trainer Kennedi, and Candace, our CHRISTUS–SFA Master of Athletic Training clinical immersion student.

We recently celebrated the opening of LeTourneau University’s new Athletic and Human Performance Air Dome and our CHRISTUS Health Sports Medicine training room. Featuring a premier indoor track and field facility, the 120,000-square-foot inflatable dome will serve not only LeTourneau University, but also Longview and communities across East Texas. As the official sports medicine provider for LeTourneau, we’re proud to support student-athletes with specialized care and grateful for the opportunity to serve the university community.
