Advancing Lung Care in East Texas: Dr. Jeffery Shea Performs First Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy at Longview Regional Medical Center
We are proud to announce that Dr. Jeffery Shea, Pulmonologist with the Diagnostic Clinic of Longview, has successfully performed the first robotic-assisted bronchoscopy at Longview Regional Medical Center. This milestone marks a significant expansion in our lung cancer diagnostic capabilities, providing our physicians with an advanced, minimally invasive tool to help detect lung cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages.
This cutting-edge technology provides our physicians with a detailed view of a patient’s unique lung anatomy, allowing them to navigate to even small, difficult-to-reach lung nodules for biopsy. During a single procedure, Dr. Shea and our clinical team can now obtain tissue for diagnosis, evaluate lymph nodes to help determine staging, and mark areas for future treatment when needed.
