The problem isn’t menopause. The problem is that we’ve treated menopause education like an elective instead of essential health care.

For decades, women have been told to expect suffering:
“That’s just aging.”
“That’s just what happens.”

No.

Hot flashes, sleep disruption, painful s*x, recurrent UTIs, mood changes, loss of muscle, brain fog, changing cholesterol, bone loss, cardiovascular risk—these deserve understanding, not dismissal.

Menopause isn’t a disease. But the suffering and consequences from low hormones can cause disease (read more about that distinction in my “menopause moment” book).

Ignorance is a disease. It causes massive problems and suffering.

When women have accurate information, everything changes:
✔️ They ask better questions.
✔️ They advocate for themselves.
✔️ They make informed decisions.
✔️ They stop believing they have to “just live with it.”

Education is treatment.
Knowledge is power.
And every woman deserves both.

If you’ve learned something about menopause that you wish someone had taught you 10 years earlier, share it below. Let’s become the education we never received. 👇

One of my favorite theorists that rocked my world in grad school, who I've always tried to emulate in sessions... a fantastic article about what clients need to receive at the very least in the therapeutic relationship, and it's all about congruence. Great read.
