📚 A trip to the Longview Public Library is always a favorite for our residents at The Eastman!

Like clockwork, every three weeks we head to the library to browse books, audiobooks, and DVDs. Residents also enjoy access to computers, and some have even discovered the library's free seed bank for their gardening projects! 🌱

We're always looking for new ways to learn, explore, and stay connected. Next on our list? Senior Coffee Time and maybe even a Tai Chi class! ☕🧘

🎣 Talk about a reel good time!

Our residents spent a beautiful day fishing at the Marshall City Arena & Pond, enjoying everything that makes East Texas special—cool breezes, bobbers dancing on the water, hot dogs on the grill, and plenty of fish biting! 🐟

A special thank you to Tony and Lisa with Marshall Hospice for treating us to such a wonderful outing and helping create memories that will last for years to come.

And the fishing champion of the day? Mrs. Jo, who reeled in an impressive THREE catfish! 🎉

The Eastman Lunch Bunch Crew hit the road and headed to Waskom, Texas for a delicious lunch at David Beard's Catfish Village! 🍽️

The food was fantastic, but the fun didn't stop there. Our residents enjoyed the beautiful scenery, watched fish swimming in the water, and even made a new feathered friend when a curious duck joined us on the porch! 🦆

It's days like these that create special memories, great conversations, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Camp Eastman came to compete! 🏅🏕️

Our residents had an absolute blast at the Annual East Texas Senior Games held at the Maude Cobb Convention Center! This event is always a highlight of the year, giving our residents the opportunity to connect with friends from other communities, show off their skills, and enjoy a little friendly competition.

This year's theme was Camp Eastman, and our happy campers brought their A-game! From start to finish, they competed with determination, teamwork, and plenty of Eastman spirit. We are so proud to celebrate their incredible achievements, bringing home 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals! 🥇🥈🥉

Congratulations to all of our participants for representing The Eastman so well. You inspire us every day with your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to jump right into the fun!

Meet Jimmy, also known as "The King of The Eastman" and the self-proclaimed "King of the Radio!" 👑🎙️

Our recent bus adventure to Carthage, Texas, was more than just a fun outing for Jimmy. It was a dream come true.

For as long as we've known him, Jimmy has shared every fact, story, and piece of history he knows about KGRI Radio and his idol, Jim Reeves. His passion for country music and radio runs deep, so you can imagine the excitement when he got to see the historic KGRI radio station exhibit and learn even more about the legendary Jim Reeves.

Watching Jimmy light up as he explored the displays, shared stories, and walked through a place he had talked about for years was truly special. His joy was contagious, and it reminded all of us how meaningful it is to connect with the people, places, and memories that shape our lives.

Sometimes the best adventures aren't about where you go, but about seeing someone experience joy on the adventure.❤️

The Eastman crew’s bus adventure to Carthage did not end at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame! We also ventured around the block to visit the beautiful Footprints In The Sand Monument. This moving sculpture depicts Jesus walking alongside an elderly man until the man’s footprints disappear and Jesus carries him the rest of the way. It was such a touching and meaningful experience for our residents. ❤️

The monument was created by sculptor Bobby Leon Harness, who was born in 1933 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps before becoming an award-winning commercial artist for more than 36 years. Inspired by the poem Footprints in the Sand, Bobby brought his vision to life in 2012 through this incredible 14-foot sculpture as a personal testimony of faith and gratitude.

The residents truly loved this trip, and with the beautiful weather and meaningful moments shared together, it was a day to remember! ☀️

The Eastman hit the road for another unforgettable Bus Adventure, this time to the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame & Tex Ritter Museum in Carthage, Texas Main Street! 🎶🤠

From classic country hits to legendary artists, this outing brought back so many special memories for our residents. It was heartwarming to watch everyone stroll down memory lane, sharing stories about their favorite songs, concerts, and musicians along the way. We even discovered some new artists and fun facts we had never heard before!

These moments of connection, laughter, and reminiscing are what make our adventures so meaningful. ❤️

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who served our country with courage and dedication. Their sacrifice and love for our nation continue to inspire us every day.

Today, we are especially grateful for the freedoms we enjoy and for the heroes and families whose legacy lives on through generations. Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day filled with remembrance, gratitude, and time spent with loved ones. 🇺🇸

Our residents always look forward to getting out on the town, sharing laughs, making memories, and enjoying a delicious meal together. Gino’s never disappoints — from the warm atmosphere to the fresh and flavorful Italian dishes, it was another fantastic Lunch Bunch adventure! ❤️
