Little Light Pediatric Therapy

Little Light Pediatric Therapy A guiding light for families and kids with speech, feeding, behavior and sensory challenges.

There is no cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all approach at Little Light. Instead, treatment plans reflect our foundational belief: that each child was created by God, uniquely and perfectly, with individual strengths and sensory challenges and therefore, that each person deserves an approach to intervention tailored to their needs. Here, families find the support and treatment they have been searchi

ng for. No one knows better than you that every child has unique needs, and that the entire family is impacted. We provide a customized approach for your child’s specific sensory challenges. As your child improves his or her functioning, you will be by their side during sessions, every step of the way.

A lot of the work we do happens behind the scenes.

Researching. Collaborating. Asking questions. Looking deeper.

Because families deserve more than quick fixes or surface-level answers.

Most of the parents we meet are exhausted. The tools they’ve been given aren’t working, and they’re stuck in survival mode trying to make sense of behaviors that feel overwhelming.

That’s where we come in.

You are the expert on your child. Our job is to help connect the dots, make things make sense, and guide your family toward tools and support that actually help.

If your toolbox feels empty and you don't know what else to do, shoot us a text. 💛 903-600-6797

Welcome back, Kenzie! ☀️

We’re so glad to have her back at Little Light this summer as part of our Front Desk & Clinic Support team.

You’ll see Kenzie at the front desk in the afternoons welcoming families, answering phones, helping around the clinic, and making sure our kiddos leave with stickers in hand. (She was a favorite last summer, so we already know she’s going to do great again 😎)

Kenzie is currently finishing her undergraduate degree in psychology and plans to apply to occupational therapy school this July. Y'all be praying over that process ❤️

If you see her around the clinic, be sure to say hi!

You don’t have to wish you could stay in the room for OT....

Because at Little Light, parents are part of the process.

We don’t believe in handing you a quick 30-second recap at the end of a session and sending you on your way. We believe therapy works best when families are involved, supported, and truly understand what’s going on with their child.

That’s why our sessions are built around connection, play, and working together.

You know your child better than anyone. And that matters here. 💛

We’re so excited Hannah is here and now welcoming new OT families.

The older I get and the more life I experience, the more I realize that Mother’s Day can feel heavy for a whole lot of people.

For the moms missing babies they never got to hold a little longer.
For the women longing to become mothers.
For those missing their own moms today.
For the moms whose children can’t say “Happy Mother’s Day” with words,
For the moms who didn’t get a break today because they are still the only safe place during meltdowns and hard moments.
For the exhausted moms carrying more than most people realize.

We see you.
God sees you too.

And we hope today met you with grace, gentleness, and little reminders that what you do matters deeply.

Happy Mother’s Day, mommas. 💛

Some families spend the weekend just trying to survive it.

Trying to get through the laundry.
The errands.
The meltdowns.
The constant overwhelm.

And when parenting feels hard all day long, it’s exhausting carrying the weight of that by yourself.

But families deserve more than survival mode.
And kids deserve more than being misunderstood.

One of the things we care deeply about here is helping families move from surviving… to thriving.

More understanding.
More confidence.
More connection.
More joy.

If things feel harder than they should right now, you don’t have to figure it out alone. 💛

We want to share something close to our hearts from Little Light Pediatric Therapy.

Over the years, we have seen a growing need for more support, access, and truly inclusive spaces for children with special needs and their families here in East Texas. Not just in therapy rooms, but in everyday community life.

Out of that awareness, a new nonprofit called Sparrow in the Pines has begun to take shape.

Its focus is simple and deeply needed: supporting families through therapy scholarships, adaptive equipment assistance, and working toward more inclusive spaces where children of all abilities can belong and participate together.

This work comes from years of walking alongside families and seeing where gaps still exist. It is still in the early stages, but the heart behind it is strong and clear.

We are honored to be part of the conversation and to support efforts that align with the families we serve every day.

If this mission resonates with you, we would love for you to follow Sparrow in the Pines on Facebook to stay connected as this grows.

More to come as our story continues to unfold 🩶

Why does this matter to East Texans?

Many families raising children with special needs in East Texas share a common experience. They feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure where to turn for support that truly understands their situation.

Navigating therapy, services, equipment, and church and school systems can be complex and exhausting, especially when resources are limited or difficult to access close to home.

At the same time, children can miss opportunities for play and connection that are essential for growth and development.

Sparrow in the Pines exists in response to these gaps.

We believe families should not have to walk this journey alone, and children should have access to spaces and support that reflect their value and potential.

Our hope is to help shift that experience toward one of connection, support, and belonging.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at Little Light.

Conversations, questions, and working together to understand what a child is really telling us through their behavior.

Sometimes that even looks like slowing down, getting in the swing, and using movement to help us think and process together.

Rather than fill our schedules back to back, we intentionally keep blank space for this very thing.

Why? So we can come alongside families and help them understand, too.

When behavior makes sense, things start to feel a whole lot less overwhelming and clarity comes for what to do next. It's our job to put those tools in the toolbox of every parent we see.
