Today on this National Day of Prayer, I am sharing the importance of prayer by Natalie Breckenridge. These words truly touched my heart and soul. I hope you will be touched as well…
Stop saying “all I can do is pray.” As if prayer is the smallest option left. As if it’s what you do when everything else fails. As if it’s weak. Prayer is not the bottom of your toolbox. It is the throne room. When you pray you are not coping. You are confronting.
You are stepping into a conversation that began before your crisis did. Jesus said in Matthew 6:10: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done.” That is not poetry. That is permission.
Permission to call Heaven into chaos. Permission to summon order into disorder. Permission to invite the King into what feels out of control.
You don’t pray because you are helpless. You pray because you have access. Access to wisdom you don’t have. Access to strength you don’t feel. Access to outcomes you cannot engineer.
And sometimes nothing changes immediately. But you do. Your fear loosens. Your breathing steadies. Your perspective lifts. Because prayer doesn’t just move mountains. It moves you into alignment with the One who commands them.
Never belittle what happens when you bow. Some of the greatest shifts in your life started with words no one else heard. Keep praying. The Lord is not ignoring you. He is responding in ways you cannot always yet see.
I pray the Holy Spirit will fill each of you with Peace, Comfort, and Strength today and each day of your life.
Love,
Dr. KAE
