If your medical care provider recommends an induction unexpectedly, you may not know what to ask 💭

Start with these 4 questions:
✨ Why is induction being recommended?
✨ How urgent is the situation?
✨ What are the benefits and risks of waiting?
✨ Are there alternatives we can consider?

In birth education, I often guide families through these scenarios. Asking questions is how you understand what is happening to your body, it doesn't mean you're being difficult 💚

Self-advocacy for you may look like gathering information so you can participate in decisions about your own birth

And if you're feeling overwhelmed in the moment? It's ok to ask your provider to slow down and explain things in plain language. You can also ask what decisions need to be made *right now* and what can wait. And no— this is not a suggestion to delay medically necessary care

This is a simple example of how I guide families through pregnancy and birth. Stay here for gentle, grounded preparation📌

Save this for your pregnancy folder (I know you have one 😉)— and send it to a friend who might need it 🙌🏽

A little re-introduction, because why not? ☺️

I’m Gina!

Wife, mom, childbirth educator, doula, postpartum educator, yogi, aerialist, and travel enthusiast ✈️💸😅

💫To my core, I believe birth preparation should leave you feeling informed— not overwhelmed
Confident— not pressured
Connected to your body, your baby, and your own intuition

I love helping you clarify your birth intentions, while also understanding that sometimes “I'm flexible” is helpful when approaching birth. I believe in evidence-based information, informed choices, flexibility, and the fact that there is more than one way to become a parent 💚

When I’m not talking about birth, babies, or prenatal movement, you can probably find me:

✨ upside down on a lyra
✨ debating music with my husband
✨ volunteering at my kids' school
✨ enjoying a meal with friends
✨ side eyeing my kids for correcting my Spanish
✨ planning our next adventure!

I’m passionate about helping women feel prepared for birth and supported through the transition into motherhood— but I’m equally passionate about remembering that motherhood is just one part of who we are

So, hello love! 👋🏽

Now I want to know:

➡️ How did you find your way to my page? However you've arrived, I’m glad you’re here!

"I guess my birth plan doesn't matter anymore."

💔 I've heard this from so many pregnant parents after they're told there is a medical necessity for an induction

An unexpected induction can bring up disappointment, fear, uncertainty, or even grief (this is important to work through) over the birth you imagined

But here's what I want you to know:
🤍 An induction changes how labor begins; it doesn't take away your voice.

•You should still ask questions
•You should still understand your options
•You can still share what matters most to you

➡️ Your birth plan was never about controlling every detail. It was about communicating your preferences so your care team can support you in the ways that you would like to be supported

A positive birth experience is about feeling informed, respected, and making decisions for you and your baby's care

✨ Save this reel for later— you never know when you or someone you love may need the reminder

Have you ever had a birth plan change unexpectedly? I'd love to hear your experience in the comments ❤️

When an induction is recommended,

you may worry that all of your birth preferences disappear 🫥

The reality is much more nuanced

Sometimes an induction is recommended because of a health concern for you, your baby, or both. In those moments, it can feel overwhelming when the birth you envisioned suddenly looks different. Birth doesn't always go according to the plan we write out 📝

📣But accepting an induction of labor does not mean giving up your ability to make informed choices

With years of experience supporting families through birth, I can say with confidence:

💫You should still ask questions
💫You should still understand your options
💫You should still communicate what matters most to you

Whether your priorities include movement during labor, delayed cord clamping, support from your partner, or simply understanding every step before it happens, your preferences remain important 💚

📌Follow for calm, evidence-based birth support. I provide personalized support for pregnancy, birth, and beyond— wherever you are in the world

It's a season of receiving 💫

Asking for help can feel surprisingly difficult postpartum. Instead of saying "I'm fine," try:

💚 "Could you bring dinner tonight?"
💚 "Could you hold the baby while I shower?"
💚 "Could you grab the grocery order?"

Through postpartum education, I explore with my families how to identify their specific needs. The more specific the request, the easier it is for people to show up for you in meaningful ways 🙌🏽

Please know that support isn't a luxury, it's a part of your postpartum recovery

➡️ What is one thing you wish someone had helped with after birth?

Stick around, mama. I share gentle guidance for pregnancy and postpartum ☺️

One of the biggest surprises after birth?

How long healing actually takes⏳

➡️The first 6 weeks after birth are often talked about like a countdown to your pre-pregnancy self... but recovery is rarely linear

💚 Some days you may feel sore, emotional, tired, or overwhelmed. Other days you'll feel up for everything

Take this guide as a reminder that healing takes time, and each person heals in their own time 💫

💬 How many weeks postpartum are you?

Follow for gentle guidance through pregnancy and postpartum

We pour our hearts into preparing for birth

✨But what about the season after birth? Postpartum preparation matters A LOT

Ask yourself:
💚 Who can support me?
💚 What boundaries will protect my peace?
💚 What tasks can I delegate?
💚 What would help me feel cared for?

Because your well-being during the weeks and months after birth matters👏🏽

This is exactly why postpartum support and preparation are woven throughout my Blossom: The Birth + Beyond Program— feeling informed, supported, and cared for matters long after birth day 🫶🏽
