Silver Pathways

Silver Pathways Silver Pathways provides a lifestyle care plan and placement services for caregivers of seniors to save them time and money. https://t.mtrbio.com/SilverPathways

Kristina Blocker, a Granite Bay resident and owner of Silver Pathways, worked in geriatric psychiatry at a hospital for nine years before starting her own business (formerly known as Dementia Care Advisors) in October 2011. She made the transition because it seemed to her that families needed more help coping with a relative’s dementia or Alzheimer’s disease than did the patients themselves. “I de

cided to start a business with educating families on what to do and how to cope with dementia, and what to expect when the unexpected happens, how to communicate, that sort of thing,” she said. Blocker started working with Seniors First to provide consultations, assessments, care plans, workshops and support groups related to Alzheimer’s disease, and Seniors First now directs dementia-related calls to her. Blocker also tours different communities with a series of three workshops on the first, second and third Wednesday of each month – understanding the seven stages, caregiver stress, and then children of dementia, respectively.

Ambiguous loss is a type of unresolved grief that occurs when a loss lacks closure or clear verification.

Because there is no resolution, closure is not possible. It often leads to complex feelings. If you’ve felt this way caring for a loved one, your feelings are valid.

There comes a time when you realize you need some support and guidance. We offer compassion and help! Give us a call at (866) 689-5413 and check out our website at silverpathways.org

Paranoia and false accusations are common in dementia. When your loved one accuses you of stealing, hiding, or taking their belongings, remember, this isn't personal, it's the disease.

Remember, you're doing your best in an incredibly difficult situation. This phase is exhausting, but you're not alone.

If you are struggling to keep up with caregiving, and need someone who can help you at this difficult time, schedule an assessment with our geriatric specialist, Kristy Blocker, for compassionate guidance and support at silverpathways.org, or call us at 866-689-5413.

Some big companies that offer dementia placement use one-size-fits-all solutions, but here's the catch; they don't have the personal connections with the local area, facilities and staff members like we do.

Your loved one is a person; not a placement. We personally know many of the local care communities, their staff, and the environments where different personalities and needs are most likely to thrive.

Let us prove to you that we take the time to truly listen, get to know your family, and help guide you through some of the hardest decisions you may ever have to make.

Schedule an assessment with our geriatric specialist, Kristy Blocker, for compassionate guidance and support at silverpathways.org, or call us at 866-689-5413.

Exciting news from the Indiana University School of Medicine! Researchers have identified a new target in the fight against memory loss: an enzyme called IDOL.

Instead of just cleaning up damage, targeting IDOL helps the brain fortify itself and prevents harmful plaques from forming in the first place. It’s like upgrading the brain's natural security system.

"Alzheimer’s is no longer an untreatable disease."
That is the bold headline from the 2026 Global Snapshot of Alzheimer’s Research, released just this week.

This year's update on the medical pipeline is the most encouraging we have ever seen!

We are optimistic due to the following:
✔️There are now 158 different medicines being tested in clinical trials. That's a 40% increase over the last decade.

✔️75% of these new drugs are looking beyond simple symptoms to target the actual biology of cognitive change.

✔️Science is moving away from a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Research is now tackling everything from brain inflammation to the immune system.

✔️2026 is a massive year for data, with eight major Phase 3 trials reaching completion this year, meaning results are coming!

While we wait for these breakthroughs to occur, we are here to help you navigate the best care and placement options available today for your loved one.
