The Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville is proud to announce the donation of two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to support the health and safety of our local community. One AED was donated to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the other to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, providing lifesaving emergency equipment for parishioners, visitors, and community members.
This donation is dedicated in loving memory of Brock Romero’s father, the late Dr. James R. Romero, M.D., along with the late Dr. Raymond F. Schneider, M.D., his daughter, Nancy Schneider, APRN-FNP, and the late Dr. John Rellus Hebert Sr., DDS, all whose unwavering compassion, selfless service, and lifelong commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to the people of Loreauville left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire the mission and values of The Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are lifesaving devices designed to provide immediate assistance during sudden cardiac arrest, significantly improving the chances of survival while awaiting emergency medical services. By placing these devices within our local churches, The Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville hopes to provide an added layer of safety and preparedness for parishioners, visitors, and all who gather for worship and community events.

The Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville is proud to announce that we are now officially certified as an active site with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This important designation reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare services to the Village of Loreauville and the rural communities we are so privileged to serve.

Becoming an active HRSA site strengthens our ability to connect patients and our community with valuable federal healthcare resources while reinforcing our mission to improve access to comprehensive primary care for individuals and families throughout Loreauville and the surrounding communities. This achievement represents another significant step forward in ensuring that our patients receive the quality care they deserve, close to home.

Please join us in welcoming Cory D. Theriot, ACNP-BC, to the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville team!

Born and raised in St. Martinville, Cory spent the first 20 years of his life in the close-knit Cajun community that helped shape a strong commitment to service, faith, and compassionate patient care. Cory earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. In 2006, he earned his Master’s degree as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama with specialized training in Critical Care, Adult Health, and Geriatrics, and is board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

With more than 20 years of experience in adult health and interventional cardiology, Cory has dedicated his career to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and currently provides collaborative cardiology services and ambulatory cardiac monitoring for the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville.

Outside of medicine, Cory enjoys coaching softball and currently serves as the softball director for Team Louisiana. He also has a passion for woodworking, a trade proudly passed down from his father. Family remains central to his life; he has been happily married to his beautiful wife, Nikki, for 23 years and has two amazing daughters, Alyx (20) and Rylie (17).
