Connection doesn’t always happen in the big moments — sometimes it’s built through small, intentional acts of love, safety, and presence. 💛

Whether it’s reading together, leaving affirmations on their mirror, sharing meaningful conversations at dinner, or slowing down for a calming bedtime routine, these moments help children feel seen, connected, and secure.

If your family is struggling with disconnection, big emotions, conflict, or stress at home, support is available. 🌿

Happy early Mother’s Day to all mamas out there! This is a POV of a mama and the POV of our kids. 😂 hopefully this not only brings a smile to your face but more importantly remind us all that moments of connection matter more than the “boring stuff.”

Maraming, maraming salamat University of the Philippines Sigma Delta Phi Alumni for inviting me for a little chat on “Hiya, respeto and boundaries: when Filipino and American values collide.” It was so good to connect with fellow Katipuneras and talk about balancing values from our motherland and adopted land. ❤️

If you’ve seen the current season of The Pitt, you might have noticed that scene with the mom with cancer and her two young boys. If you recall she referenced “”the invisible string” in one of the scenes, and my guess is that she reference this book.
This is a popular book among therapists to help share that even when family members are apart, there’s an invisible string that ties them together. I love how this was referenced in that episode. ❤️

I am now a certified Emotionally-Focused Family Therapist! This journey has been five years in the making, and I’m so happy and honored to do this work for my clients.

As what I’ve shared to others in the past, I started out as a community mental health therapist, which didn’t place a heavy emphasis on family work and when I learned about EFFT and attachment,it was such a game changer. The transformation I’ve seen in my families has been awe-inspiring.

I can’t imagine doing any other type of work. This is where my heart lies. And to have this certification is cherry on top. ❤️

Many clients have come to me, and feeling immense anxiety about current events. They are scared, worried, and anxious. I too feel the same way. But we talk about ways that they can set some parameters and move from a place of helplessness and powerlessness, to security and groundedness.

It’s important to ask certain questions (such as these in the workbook) even if they feel uncomfortable to answer, because it can help shed light on the hurt that’s been there all these years. And when there’s space to work through the hurt, it feels more manageable, and we feel more grounded, rooted, and self-secure.

Things I’d say to co-parents (if I wasn’t afraid of hurting your feelings):

You are part of the cycle, too. Co-parenting dynamics are rarely one-sided—when they push, you may shut down; when you overwhelm, they may retreat. Not to blame you, but to remind you that awareness is power. Most co-parents are doing the best they can with the capacity, experience, and knowledge they have—even if it doesn’t look the way you hoped. And sometimes, without realizing it, we project unresolved hurt from the relationship onto our child.

Co-parenting across two households can feel exhausting and lonely, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I help parents break unhealthy cycles, protect their child from tension, and communicate with greater clarity and confidence.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my 4(?)Year old self! 🎄

She was a girl who just adored her dolls, books, make up and cooking playsets. At this time, my parents and I lived in a modest duplex home in Cagayan de Oro city, two doors down from my maternal grandparents where we would have Noche Buena (Christmas Eve celebration) with all my titos, titas and cousins and stay up till midnight before we exchanged presents.

Hope everyone has a Happy and safe Holiday season! See you all in the New Year! 🎉

This was a buuusssyyy year but very productive year for my practice. Apart from seeing clients, i had four speaking engagements including the Women’s Conference and my Paghilom workshop. I joined the Los Alamitos Chamber of Commerce and got connected to many generous people in the organization. I also got to meet other therapists and providers that are just as passionate in serving the community. I attended the emotionally focused individual therapy training in Las Vegas and assisted in various EFFT trainings as a helper in role plays.

And to balance the hustle, i ensured taking time off in the summer (and my upcoming Holiday break) and a yoga retreat to center and balance myself.

even with the hustle and bustle, what was most important to me is continuing to hold space and help individuals, couples and families break the cycle and make their way towards each other. The human and relational aspects of this work is what I love the best. ❤️
