Just like any other parent, i fought the urge to give in to more devices and more “trackers” for my firstborn. “What’s another device?”, i thought, “You already gave her a phone at age 8 to give her a direct line to you and your husband in an emergency but did that give you peace of mind?” 🤷🏽♀️
She justified having an Apple Watch as yet another expressway to contacting us. But is that really the point? The point is she needs a watch to tell time as she starts middle school tomorrow. I dug my heels in and started her off with a watch (of my choosing because i grew up wearing Swatches!) of her choice of color. Thankfully she backed down fairly easily. Another parent win? Only time (ahem) will tell.
