Persistent tension in the inner thighs isn’t always just a muscle issue.

The obturator nerve, which runs through the pelvis and supplies the adductors, can contribute to tightness or discomfort when irritated or restricted.

An obturator nerve glide is a gentle technique used to restore mobility and reduce sensitivity in the nerve, which can help the adductors relax more effectively.

It’s a targeted, nervous system-based approach that supports deeper and more lasting relief… especially when traditional stretching isn’t enough.

Always consult a pelvic health professional to determine what’s appropriate for your body.

Dealing with stubborn hip pain or tightness that just won’t go away? This can feel like a literal pain in the butt!

Your pelvic floor might be part of the puzzle.

The pelvic floor (especially a muscle called the obturator internus) plays a huge role in hip mobility and pelvic alignment… so when it’s tight or overactive, your hips can definitely feel it.

Often times, this muscle becomes tight in your pelvic floor, and treating it can relieve pain around the side and back of the hip.

Before you do another round of clamshells or hip stretches, try looking a little deeper. Your pelvic floor could be the key to lasting relief!

🦶 Want stronger glutes? Don’t forget about your feet.

Your feet are your foundation, and how well they can sense, stabilize, and push into the ground can influence what happens farther up the chain—including your hips and glutes.

When your foot and ankle aren’t providing a solid base, your body may compensate with changes in how your knee, hip, and pelvis move. Building foot strength and control can help create a better foundation for your glutes to do their job.

Swipe through to see why foot strength matters for glute activation and lower-body mechanics ➡️

And remember: “turning your glutes on” isn’t just about squeezing harder. It’s about giving your body the strength, stability, and movement options to use them effectively.

Your glutes are more than just one muscle! 🍑

Your gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus all have different roles, but they work together to help stabilize your hips and pelvis during everyday movement and exercise.

Strong, coordinated glutes can help your hips and pelvis better manage load—and they’re an important part of the bigger picture when we’re looking at pelvic floor function.

Swipe through to see each muscle and what it does ➡️

The female pelvic floor deserves way more attention than it gets.

So many people grow up without ever learning the names or functions of their own anatomy, and that’s a problem. Understanding your body isn’t embarrassing... it’s empowering.

In this video, we’re breaking down the female v***ar anatomy, what each structure does, and why it matters for pleasure, bladder health, pelvic pain, childbirth, and overall pelvic health.

Save this for later, send it to someone who skipped this lesson in health class, and let us know what surprised you most!

Repost Dr. Sadikah Behbehani

Visceral manipulation session Dr. Julie Sarton & The Pelvic Healing Team!
Visceral manipulation can be a valuable part of pelvic floor physical therapy—especially for patients dealing with chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, scar tissue, or restrictions after surgery.

This hands-on technique focuses on improving mobility and reducing tension and restrictions between the organs, fascia, and surrounding tissues.

For some patients, surgery is only one piece of the puzzle. Addressing pelvic floor dysfunction, muscle tension, mobility, and scar restrictions can be an important part of recovery and long-term symptom management.

A multidisciplinary approach matters. 💛

Want to strengthen your glute med without putting a ton of load through your pelvic floor?

Dr. Christina is showing this exercise on the reformer, while Dr. Julie demonstrates a slider variation you can easily do at home (even with a paper plate!)

Both versions target the gluteus medius, which plays an important role in hip stability and pelvic control.

Watch the two variations and choose the version that works best for your setup. You don’t need a reformer to get a great glute workout!

Focus on keeping your pelvis steady and controlling the movement rather than rushing through the reps. Your glute med should be doing the work!
