If youy've been skipping breakfast, try adding it back in with no rules or pressure. Just something simple, for a week. And assess how you feel. Then come back, and tell me how it went!

Is this the most ridiculous diet trend of them all? Have we stumbled across the final boss of diet trends?

Oh wait, no … tapeworms were a thing once. Sigh.

Reclaiming that trust can feel strange, like trying to remember something you never should have forgotten. Lean into the strange and come back to your body, its worth it.

Fitness, nutrition, appearance, sleep, and mindfulness ... this industry convinces us to buy products and programs in the name of "health", marketing quick fixes and turning self-doubt into sales.

Tell it to f**k off. We aren't buying anymore.

For many people, monitoring weight is a daily self-assessment, with a whole skein of morality and criticism unraveling from that one action.

This tight relationship with the scale, which doles out a daily number that can be used to assess if you are doing well or not good enough, starts to feel like an oracle for how your day will go. It stems from the intersection of the emphasis that healthcare professionals put on people’s weight, and our culture puts on body image. With a little bit of fervent meaning-making and wellness as a spiritual calling in the mix.

Your health status is vastly broader and wider than what the scale can tell you
If you need a random number generator to start your morning, maybe get into numerology, add up the date, and decide what your day will look like based on that. It’s more fun and it doesn’t make you feel like s**t every day.

I recognize that many people will take GLP-1s for a variety of health concerns or personal reasons. These meds—originally developed to manage type 2 diabetes—are now being used to support people with insulin resistance, PCOS, and other metabolic conditions. And yes, they’re also very much being used for weight loss, by people in a range of body sizes.

What isn’t being discussed in the GLP-1 conversation is that people still need support nourishing their bodies in a way that aligns with their values as they navigate the effects of a GLP-1 on their appetite, cravings and eating patterns.

You are still a whole person. With a body. A history. And a relationship with food that doesn’t disappear when your prescription is filled.
