WHAT IF ALL WE NEED IS TO GATHER AND BREATHE?

The answer is within.

After writing What Do I Want?, and as I prepare for our first small gathering, I kept thinking about something.

How often do women actually have the space to ask themselves questions like that?

Not while driving somewhere.
Not while taking care of someone.
Not while answering emails, making dinner, working, planning, solving.

But to really stop.

And listen.

I don’t want to create a women’s experience where I stand in front of a room and tell women how to live their lives.

I don’t have their answers.

I’m still discovering many of my own.

What I can create is space.

A space where we can sit together and speak honestly.

Where one woman can share and the rest of us can listen without immediately trying to fix, advise, compare or respond.

Where we can breathe.

Move.

Eat beautiful food together.

Spend time in nature.

Return to our bodies.

Be quiet.

Laugh.

And perhaps ask questions we haven’t given ourselves enough space to ask.

Because sometimes another woman’s story opens something inside our own.

Sometimes the body knows something before the mind has found words for it.

And sometimes we don’t need another answer.

We need enough presence to hear our own.

That is the kind of Women’s Experience I want to create.

Not a place to be told who to become.

A place to remember how to listen to who we already are.

What makes a hospitality experience unforgettable?

For me, great hospitality and experience design begins long before the guest arrives.

Before the itinerary.
Before the menu.
Before the wellness experience, retreat, activity or beautiful setting.

It begins with a question:

What do we want people to feel?

Then we design the journey—the arrival, the rhythm, the food, the spaces, the transitions, the moments of discovery, connection and rest.

But the details have to belong to the place.

Its landscape.
Its culture.
Its food.
Its stories.
Its people.

Because meaningful travel experiences cannot simply be picked up and recreated somewhere else.

After more than 20 years working across hospitality, creative production, destination marketing, wellness and retreat design, this is the work I keep returning to:

Creating experiences that connect people more deeply to a place—and leave enough room for something we can never completely design:

how people actually feel.

Hospitality, in its purest form.

WHAT DO I WANT?

A new friend recently asked me about my desires, my dreams, my hopes.

He had been sharing pieces of his own life and then turned the question toward me:

What do you want to do?
How are you going to make your dreams happen?

Simple questions.

But I realized I didn’t have a simple answer.

For so long, much of the future I imagined for myself has been woven into being a mother, a wife, a partner.

I had dreams, of course. I have always worked, created, traveled, built things, started things, imagined things.

But somewhere along the way, I began imagining that many of my deepest dreams would be fulfilled through motherhood, through my relationship, through the life we were building together.

And there is nothing wrong with that.

Those dreams were real.
That love was real.
That part of my life is real.

But his question made another question rise in me:

What about my own personal destiny?

Not my destiny as a mother.
Not my destiny as a wife.
Not what I can build for my children.
Not what I can create alongside someone else.

Mine.

What do I still want to experience?
What do I want to create?
Where do I want to live?
What work am I meant to do?
Who am I becoming?

And maybe most importantly:

Am I willing to take responsibility for making those dreams possible?

Because dreaming is one thing.

Choosing is another.

Choosing may mean changing things. Taking risks. Letting go of expectations. Accepting that some dreams may not happen in the form we once imagined, and having enough faith to imagine them again.

Perhaps there comes a moment in a woman’s life when she has to meet herself again.

Not as someone’s mother.
Not as someone’s wife.
Not as someone’s daughter.
Not as someone’s anything.

Just herself.

I don’t have all of my answers yet.

Maybe sometimes we simply need enough space to ask the questions. To say them out loud. To listen to another woman’s story and recognize something of ourselves in it. To become quiet enough to hear what we actually feel.

I’m learning that I don’t need to have an answer today.

But I do need to keep asking myself the question.

What do I want? ♥️

Have a wonderful Sunday 🌧️✨

I didn’t create Tiny Chefs just to teach children recipes. 🌿

I created it because I wanted children to experience the world.

To taste something unfamiliar.
To discover where food comes from.
To become curious about another place, another culture, another way of living.
To learn geography and begin to understand that we all belong to this Earth.

This week, we traveled to Central America and Into the Forest — Costa Rica. 🇨🇷

We talked about the Americas, discovered where Costa Rica is on the map, explored rainforests, tropical plants and animals, and worked with fresh ingredients. We chopped, tasted, created and shared—and took a little tropical vacation in the middle of back-to-school life.

Because Tiny Chefs has never really been only about cooking.

It’s about little hands, curious minds and open hearts.

One recipe. One culture. One little journey around the world. 🌎❤️

We are always creating.

Not only when we write, paint, cook, build a business, or make something with our hands.

We create through the choices we make every day.

The way we spend our time.
The work we give our energy to.
The spaces we create for others.
The relationships we nurture.
The life we are slowly building.

Lately, I’ve been thinking less about what I am creating and more about how consciously I am creating it.

Is it coming from habit?
Expectation?
Fear?

Or from love, intention, curiosity and a deeper understanding of the life I want to live?

Perhaps becoming a conscious creator begins there—not with having everything figured out, but with becoming more aware of what we are choosing to build.

What are you consciously creating in your life right now? 🌿

Driving through Topanga Canyon on this beautiful, peaceful, warm evening, the huge moon overlooking the mountains reminded me of the many full moons that have bathed my life.

I feel so grateful for their magic and connection.

The many moons that have inspired me.
The many times I have felt guided by her.

And the nights when I felt completely disconnected from her—those nights when I looked up and begged her to shine her magic on me again.

Tonight, this moon took me back to last month’s moon—standing beside my family in the Caribbean—and to the feeling that somehow, somewhere along the way, her magic and protection had returned me to an old part of myself.

Or perhaps not the old me.

Perhaps a part of me I thought I had lost.

Last month’s moon and tonight’s moon seem to be whispering the same guidance:

Not everything needs to be figured out tonight.

Some things need time.
Some things need darkness.
Some things are still becoming.

Look up. 🌕

There is so much happening beyond what we can see.

And I think I’m finally learning to trust that.

What am I truly here to build?

I’ve been sitting with this question for a long time.

As a woman, mother, creative, author and founder, the older I get, the less I believe the answer is one thing.

I’m building meaningful work.
I’m building a life with my family.
I’m building experiences, stories, relationships and ideas.
And I’m trying to build in a way that contributes—however quietly—to my community and the world around me.

But I’m also learning that building requires letting go.

Of versions of ourselves we’ve outgrown.
Of definitions of success that were never really ours.
Of work that no longer feels aligned.
Of things we continue simply because we’ve always done them.

Maybe living our dharma isn’t about discovering one perfect purpose.

Maybe it’s about becoming increasingly conscious of where we place our time, our energy, our creativity, our courage and our love.

And then building from there.

This question has shaped so much of what I create through Suddha Prem—from writing and conscious living experiences to retreats and the work I design with people, communities and hospitality partners.

It all comes back to the same intention:

How can we create something meaningful?

This week’s Suddha Prem Journal invites you to explore:

What are you truly here to build?

You don’t need the whole answer today.

Just make a little space to listen. 🌿

What makes an experience unforgettable?

I don’t think it’s how far we traveled, how beautiful the hotel was, or how perfectly everything went.

It’s how we felt while we were there.

The wonder of discovering something for the first time.
The food we tasted.
The people we met.
The stories we heard.
The connection to a place, its culture, its history, its nature.

And perhaps most of all, the moments when we watched our children experience the world with complete curiosity and joy.

Years later, we may forget the itinerary.

But we remember the feeling.

I’ve spent much of my life creating experiences—in hospitality, travel, food, wellness, and now with children—and I keep coming back to the same thing:

The most meaningful experiences invite us to feel something.

To connect.
To discover.
To be present.
To remember what matters.

Lately, I’ve been dreaming again about what it could look like to take some of the experiences we’ve been creating together beyond the studio…

and out into the world. 🌎✨

Maybe it’s time.

What experience has stayed with you forever? 🤍
