For 14 years, Meghan has volunteered with OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center and Camp Erin LA, supporting children and families navigating grief with compassion, honesty, and care.

She understands something essential: children do not need less truth. They need truth delivered with safety, support, and a community that helps them feel less alone.

This summer, donations to OUR HOUSE help provide free grief support programs and Camp Erin experiences for children, teens, and caregivers across Los Angeles.

Every contribution helps ensure that no one has to grieve alone.

Grief support groups have a defined beginning and end.

But often, groups continue to meet long after their sessions end.

What begins as structured support can become lasting community, formed through shared understanding and connection.

In one example, a Woodland Hills group continued to meet after completing their sessions, calling themselves a familia de duelo.

It reflects something we see often in grief support. Healing is not linear, and community does not always end when formal sessions do.

Camp Erin LA is for children and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone significant or close to them.

To attend camp, the death must have occurred within the last 4 years, and at least 3 months before camp begins.

Campers should be able to recall memories of the person who died and be willing to share those memories in a supportive environment.

A parent or guardian must remain present at camp and participate in their own session during the camp experience.

Camp Erin LA helps young people connect, remember, and feel less alone in their grief.

“I have made several friends here, I feel supported, understood and I am able to openly talk about the death of my wife in these groups, I didn’t realize that talking about her death over and over would be healing.”

Death is a part of life. Grief is the natural response. Yet many professionals have not had the training nor developed the skills to support clients through this tumultuous journey.

This experiential course will provide you with theoretical and practical approaches to use in your work with grieving children, adolescents, and/or adults. You will have the opportunity to enhance and practice your skills and to reflect upon your own comfort in dealing with death and bereavement.

Early bird pricing ends June 1. See link in bio/comments.
