This Pride Month, I’m celebrating the beautiful, resilient, and uniquely intentional ways that q***r couples love. 🏳️‍🌈✨

As a couples therapist here in Los Angeles, I get a front-row seat to the magic of LGBTQ+ relationships. Without a traditional "blueprint" to follow, q***r partners have the unique opportunity to build relationships based entirely on mutual respect, radical honesty, and shared values, rather than outdated societal expectations.

👉 To my LGBTQ+ community: What is your favorite thing about the way you and your partner love? Let’s celebrate in the comments!

If you’re looking for a q***r-affirming space to strengthen your relationship, my books are open for couples therapy. Link in bio to connect. 🤍

People often carry hidden. Beliefs about themselves, others, and relationships. Beliefs such as:

- My needs don't matter
- I can't depend on anyone
- I have to be perfect to be loved
- People always leave

These Beliefs often develop long before your current relationship and can shape how you interpret your partner's behavior, response during conflict, expressing your needs, and how you experience connection.

The goal is not to simply stop arguing. The goal is to create a relationship where both partners feel seen, understood, valued, and emotionally safe enough to shownup authentically with one another.

Have you ever walked away from argument feeling completely justified, while your partner felt the exact same way?

Thats often why couples get stuck.

Both people are so focused on proving their perspective that they stop trying to understand the other person's experience.

The goal of a healthy relationship isn't determining who's right and who's wrong.

It's understanding:
- What happened for you
- What happened for your partner
- How your experiences shaped the interaction

When couples become locked into "my truth vs your truth," conflict tends to repeat itself.

When couples become curious about each others reality, connection becomes possible.

You both can be right.

The real question: can you make space for both?

In my work with couples, I help move beyond blame, defensiveness, and keeping score so they can understand the deeper dynamics driving conflict and create a stronger, more connected relationship.

Many couples wait until their relationship is in crisis before seeking help.

But most relationship struggles start much earlier, through small moments of disconnection, unresolved conflict, emotional distance, or feeling like you’re no longer truly understanding each other.

Sometimes the signs look like:
• Having the same argument over and over
• Feeling more like roommates than partners
• Avoiding conversations to “keep the peace”
• Feeling unheard, unseen, or emotionally disconnected
• Walking on eggshells during conflict
• Struggling to repair after disagreements

Needing support does not mean your relationship is failing.
It means the current dynamic may no longer be working, and something needs attention, care, and understanding.

Couples therapy can help you:
✔ Understand the cycle underneath the conflict
✔ Improve communication and emotional safety
✔ Rebuild connection and intimacy
✔ Learn healthier ways of showing up for each other
✔ Create lasting relational change

Healthy relationships are not conflict-free.
They’re relationships where both people learn how to navigate conflict, repair, and reconnect together.

Healthy communication isn't just about saying the "right" words. It's about learning how to stay regulated, connected, and present enough to actually hear each other.

I help couples understand the deeper dynamic underneath the conflict so they can stop repeating the same painful cycle & start communicating in a way that actually creates connection.
