I have the privilege of walking with "becoming parents" to help each prepare for, think well about, and take on the great gift and journey of labor, birth, and parenthood. I am passionate about loving people where they are, especially those who have need. This has seemed to transfer wonderfully well into my pursuits as a doula. Because both a woman who has a developing baby inside her and has horm
ones erratically but perfectly engaging, and organs being smooshed around, and energy being taxed, or a daddy who has fears and concerns about how to care well for his pregnant bride and future laboring bride, and his future baby: are needy. I love to care specifically for the needy and becoming family. There is so much to think about and experience! In 2014 i began the wonderful, humbling journey of Doulahood. And boy have i enjoyed every moment of it. I was blessed with an opportunity to begin my doula life as an apprentice to a very skilled and experienced doula of 17 years, Cindy Jaime. In the past three years i have walked with many families as their doula and friend, and i, much like the few other people in the room each time, have tangible yet inexpressible memories of every single birth! What an honor to get to be a part of this intimate, life changing experience with each family. I have a background in Child Development and Family Life Education and i have spent the last 10 years nannying three incredibly sweet children who are some of the most precious gifts in my life. I love the opportunity to pull from my other realms of experience and apply all that i know to my call as a doula. I am also a Christian, if you are looking for a someone who engages life from a Biblical worldview i am that kind of person and i certainly would love the opportunity to share in the work of the gospel with you and urge you with tenderness to look to Christ at every end of your experiences of pregnancy, birth and parenthood. On the other hand, i am also respectful of the religious and cultural backgrounds of my families, it is one of my greatest concerns to care for my families in the way that they would feel most cared for. If they are not Christians, i honor wherever it is that they are. My role is to support, so i aim to do whatever feels most supportive for the family. My goal as a doula is to respect and honor the desires of mommy and daddy. I am a defender of your preferences in the hospital, i am your cheerleader, your labor shepherd, your prayer partner, your muscle, your motivation, your encouragement your knowledge, your friend, your servant. I am in the business of service, truly. I would love to talk, listen, share who i am ,and explore the possibilities of my serving you and your family for your birth.
