I bet you didn’t see that coming 😅 READ ⬇️

Here’s your reminder that the thing causing your eczema may just be in your environment!

After getting off Dupixent in 2018 and keeping my skin about 90% clear, I began experiencing chronic staph infections and severe facial eczema.

For FIVE YEARS, I could not figure out why I kept flaring on my face. It just kept getting worse and worse and worse.

Like many people with eczema, I assumed the answer had to be my gut. I worked with naturopaths, tried supplements, and even explored Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). While some of those things may have supported my overall health, NOTHING—and I mean NOTHING—improved my skin the way patch testing did.

Leading up to my wedding in October 2025, I was committed to healing my skin and being skin-stress-free on my wedding day. I started working closely with my dermatologist, , who reviewed all of the ingredients in my products and pointed out potential red flags like beeswax and propylene glycol. She recommended simplifying everything, using Vaseline, and getting patch tested.

The patch testing process took over a month from scheduling to completion, but it was LIFE-CHANGING.

I learned that I was severely allergic to BPA epoxy resin, which feels like it’s in everything and isn’t always easy to identify. I had BPA-containing items in my water bottles, toothbrushes, glasses, and more. I also learned about sensitivities to ingredients commonly found in skincare and makeup. Once I started removing these exposures, my eczema improved dramatically.

Although I’ve been a patient advocate for 8 years, this experience taught me a valuable lesson: allergens can change. We have to stay open to new information and continue working with dermatologists and allergists when things aren’t improving.

I didn’t have to wait 5 years & I wish I had known these things sooner.

And because I know them now, I share them here. 🖤

Not because gut health doesn’t matter. But because sometimes the answer isn’t in your gut - it may be in your environment.

Happy Healing Mindset, fam. 🖤

😩😩😩 the struggle is real!

My top moisturizers lately:
All
- for the body: Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream
- for face sunscreen: Toleraine Double Repair Face Moisturizer SPF 30
- for hands: Cicaplast Mains

And of course, - the OG.

What has been your go-to moisturizer lately?!

Ps. This is an old video and don’t recall the original owner of it. Original owner - if you see this - message me so I can tag you 😅

Did you guess correctly? 👀 Why these? ⬇️

For years, I thought I needed to find the “right” product. What I actually needed was to figure out which ingredients my skin didn’t like. This is where patch testing & working closely with my derm completely changed the way I look at skincare

The 3 products I no longer use are:

☀️ Sun Bum Face Stick
Contains fragrance 🫠 and many sunscreen sticks are applied directly to the face and lips over and over again with the potential of bacteria buildup from repeated direct application.

💋 Organic Lip Balm
Many natural lip balms contain beeswax, which I learned my skin is sensitive to. Once I stopped using products with beeswax, I noticed a difference in the irritation around my lips.

🧴 Avène Tolérance Control Cream
This one surprised me because it’s a product that many people with sensitive skin love. But after reviewing the ingredients, I realized it also contains beeswax, which made it no longer the best fit for my skin. 😒

This isn’t a post saying these are bad products.

They’re just not the right products for ME.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that a product can work wonders for someone else and still be contributing to your flare-ups.

That’s why I’m always talking about patch testing. Sometimes the answer isn’t finding a new product. Sometimes it’s discovering that an ingredient in your current routine has been the problem all along.

Have you ever stopped using a product you loved because you discovered you were allergic or sensitive to an ingredient in it?

Happy healing mindset, fam 🖤

I used to think this was just my life.
Flare → itch → spiral → repeat.

No one told me that “managing eczema” could actually look like learning your body instead of just reacting to it.

Things I wish I knew earlier:
• Not every flare is “just eczema” — infections, allergies, and irritants matter
• There are different types of eczema… not everything works for everyone
• Patch testing > guessing
• Your environment (weather, fabrics, stress, products) plays a bigger role than you think
• There are treatment options beyond what you were first prescribed
• Scratching isn’t a lack of discipline — it’s a biological response
• You are allowed to advocate for better care, better answers, and second opinions

For me, things started shifting when I stopped asking
“why is this happening to me?”
and started asking
“what is my skin trying to tell me?”

This is your reminder:
Suffering is not the requirement. Support, strategy, and awareness change everything.

What’s one thing you wish you knew earlier about your eczema?

Met Gala | Theme: The Art of Eczema

IYKYK 😅😩

Every look in this collection represents a different part of living with eczema… from the routines, to the pain, to the parts no one sees.

Which one did you feel the most? 🖤

Which type of eczema do YOU have?

It drives me INSANE when I see eczema “protocols” being generalized to everyone… when in reality, each type can require a different way of managing it.

Once you know your type(s), you can then make informed decisions for your skin.

Which type(s) do YOU have? Let me know in the comments!

Le sighhh 😮‍💨🫠 do your products contain these ingredients?

If they do, here’s what you can do:
👉🏼 there’s no harm in removing them from your routine for a few weeks to see if your eczema improves
👉🏼 ask your doctor to refer you to an allergist to do patch testing on similar ingredients. The type of testing I did was called the North American 70 series.

One baby step at a time to gain clarity on how to heal your eczema 🫂🖤
