REFCON 2026 • Seattle, WA • June 12–14, 2026

What a weekend.

For three days, members of the Refuge Recovery community gathered for meetings, meditation, recovery, friendship, laughter, and connection. Some met in person for the very first time after years of seeing each other on Zoom. Others traveled from across the country to reconnect with old friends and build new relationships in recovery.

Between the meetings, shared meals, free time, Spider Games, and plenty of memorable moments, what stood out most was the strength of our sangha and the reminder that none of us have to walk this path alone.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this year’s conference such a meaningful experience.

Start Helping Eachother

We set the bar too high sometimes—thinking we need more time, more sobriety, more meditation before we can help anyone else. But that’s not how this works. If you’re practicing, if you’re showing up, you already have something to offer.

The person with two days can help the person with one. Being of service isn’t something you wait for—it’s part of the path. It’s how we get out of the self-centered mind and move toward freedom, recovery, and real connection.

Freedom

There is a goal in this practice—and the goal is freedom. Recovery isn’t passive, it’s not something that just happens because we show up. The Eightfold Path asks for intention, effort, and a kind of steady determination to keep going, even when it’s uncomfortable.

We’re going against greed, hatred, and delusion. That takes energy. It takes commitment. If you want freedom, you have to be willing to do the work—meditation, mindfulness, recovery, over and over again.
