Between coaching, running a business and everything else on my plate, it isn’t always easy to keep my own health at the top of the list.

Sometimes life gets busy—and taking care of yourself becomes the first thing to go.

But here’s what I’ve learned: I don’t have to do everything perfectly to keep myself from slipping to the bottom of my own priority list.

I protect a little quiet time, schedule some kind of movement, keep nourishing meals simple and do my best to prioritize sleep.

Nothing extreme. Nothing complicated. Just a few small things that help me feel grounded, energized and more like myself.

Because motivation comes and goes. Having a few dependable habits is what keeps me moving forward—even when life gets hectic.

Share this with a woman who needs permission to put herself back on her own list today. Then tell me: What’s the ONE non-negotiable that helps you feel your best? 💜

I just added Unbreakable: A Woman’s Guide to Aging with Power by Dr. Vonda Wright to the top of my reading list—and I’m excited to dive in!

Dr. Wright is an orthopedic surgeon and longevity expert, and her book explores how strength training, nutrition, and other lifestyle habits can help women build stronger muscles and bones, maintain mobility, and protect their independence as they age.

In other words, it’s pretty much speaking my language! 💜

If you’re a woman over 50 who wants to feel strong, capable, and confident for decades to come, this may be worth adding to your list, too.

What’s on your nightstand—or in your e-reader—right now?

Here’s the 5-minute Sunday habit that helps keep me on track all week.

Every Sunday, I open my calendar and schedule three things:

📅 My workouts and daily movement

🍽️ Time to plan and prep a few simple meals

😴 My bedtime and evening wind-down

Because what gets scheduled is much more likely to get done.

What doesn’t? Well…we all know how easily that gets pushed aside when the week gets busy. 😏

This isn’t about planning every minute or following your calendar perfectly. It’s about making space for the habits that help you feel your best—before everything else claims your time.

Try it this Sunday. Open your calendar, schedule your movement, meal prep and bedtime—and treat those appointments with the same importance as everything else on your list.

Save this as your Sunday reminder, and tag a friend who could use a little more structure in her week! 📅💜

Hello, my ladies over 50!

If you’ve ever gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure out the “best” way to lose weight, improve your energy, and support your changing hormones—you are not alone.

One expert says to cut carbs… another says carbs are fine, but you need to fast longer…

AndAnd then someone ELSE says it’s all about your cortisol.

(Don’t even get me started on what’s trending on social media this week.)

No wonder so many women over 50 feel completely paralyzed!

Here’s what years of training and coaching have taught me:

The basics get the job done.

✅ Eat enough protein
✅ Strength train regularly
✅ Prioritize quality sleep
✅ Manage your stress
✅ Move your body throughout the day

When in doubt, go back to the basics. They will never let you down.

That’s exactly what my Hormonal Harmony Coaching Method is built around: proven fundamentals, adapted to work with your changing body, your real life, and your individual goals—with plenty of support and accountability along the way.

Walk-Away Chicken…

Do I have your attention yet!? :-)

You don’t have to babysit the chicken while it’s cooking… and it comes out juicy and succulent!

🧑🍳Walk-Away Chicken
(Serves 2)

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz/170 g each)
- 1 tsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste

Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness, about ½- to ¾-inch (1.25- to 2-cm) thick.
Season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil or butter and swirl to coat.

Lower heat to medium and add chicken. Cook undisturbed for 1 minute. Flip, reduce heat to low, and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Do not lift the lid!

After 10 minutes, turn off the heat. Leave covered for another 10 minutes. Check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F/74ºC. Rest 2 to 3 minutes, then slice.

Flavor tip: Finish with lemon juice, fresh herbs, or your favorite sauce after cooking.

I can always tell it’s September when apples, squash, and all those gorgeous fall flavors start calling my name. 🍎🍂

Without even thinking about it, my routines begin to shift. I start craving warmer meals, heartier vegetables, and foods that feel a little cozier. Soup anyone?

But I’m making some intentional changes, too.

This fall, I’m focusing on building more variety into my meals by choosing produce that’s fresh and in season.

Why? Because variety gives my body a wider range of nutrients—and keeps healthy eating from becoming boring!

What’s one thing you’re changing up this fall? Drop it in the comments or send me a DM. I love hearing what you’re up to! 👇💜

Your workout isn’t the only movement that matters.

In fact, structured exercise may account for only a small portion of the energy you use each day.

Another important piece is called NEAT: non-exercise activity thermogenesis. That’s the energy you burn through everyday movement outside of intentional exercise—from walking the dog and doing housework to pacing while you’re on the phone.

And it can make a surprisingly big difference. Research suggests NEAT can vary by as much as 2,000 calories per day between two similarly sized people with very different occupations and lifestyles.

That helps explain why two people can follow the same workout plan and experience very different results—and why working out hard doesn’t completely offset sitting for the rest of the day.

The good news? You don’t necessarily need another workout. Start looking for simple ways to move more throughout the day:

✅ Take the stairs when it feels good
✅ Add a short daily walk
✅ Stand or pace during phone calls
✅ Get up and move for a few minutes every hour
✅ Choose an active hobby instead of another hour of TV

These little bursts of movement can add up—and the benefits go far beyond weight management. Moving more supports healthier blood sugar, stronger bones, a better mood and healthy aging.

Nutshell: Your workout matters—but so does everything you do between workouts.
