In July 2023, Putin signed a law that bans medical gender transitions in Russia and also bars people who have changed s*x from adopting or becoming legal guardians of children.
Marriages involving a partner who later transitioned can be annulled.
A later 2024 law went further and blocked adoptions of Russian children by people in countries that allow gender transition.
Should the U.S. put similar limits on adoption and guardianship?
