A higher BMI doesn’t automatically mean you can’t have a tummy tuck. 👏

I see many patients who have been told they need to reach a certain number on the scale before they can even consider surgery but BMI is only one part of the picture.

When I evaluate a patient for tummy tuck surgery, I look at the whole patient: overall health, medical history, weight stability, anatomy, surgical goals, and most importantly, whether the procedure can be performed safely.

For the right candidate, a tummy tuck can address:

🚨 She already had a tummy tuck… so why did she still have loose abdominal skin?

This is a REVISION tummy tuck case.

Our patient came to Dr. Yaghoubian after a previous tummy tuck but was still bothered by significant residual skin laxity. A standard revision alone wouldn’t adequately address the excess skin—so Dr. Yaghoubian customized her revision using a Fleur-de-Lis tummy tuck.

By removing excess skin both vertically and horizontally, the Fleur-de-Lis approach allowed for a more comprehensive tightening and improved abdominal contour.

Revision surgery is not about repeating the same operation—it’s about understanding WHY the first procedure didn’t achieve the patient’s goals and choosing the right technique for their anatomy.
