We are thrilled to welcome Kara Joyce to the Lost River Yoga teaching team!
Kara came to yoga in her 50s during a full and fast-paced chapter of life — and what began as a way to manage stress became something much deeper. The physical benefits were immediate, but it was the clarity, calm, and steadiness of mind that truly transformed how she navigated demanding days.
After retiring from a successful career in the hospitality industry, Kara felt called to deepen her practice and share it with others. She completed her 200-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training at Dimitra Yoga in Lewes Beach, Delaware in 2023, where she refined her understanding of alignment, sequencing, and the powerful connection between breath and movement.
Kara's teaching blends the grounding qualities of Hatha with intentional breathwork and mindful flow, emphasizing balance — effort and ease, strength and softness. She creates a welcoming space for students of all levels, guiding them to slow down, reconnect with their breath, and leave feeling restored and quietly empowered.
Off the mat, Kara enjoys mountain living, hiking, biking, cooking, reading, and cultivating spaces where people can pause and simply breathe. We are so glad she found her way to Lost River!
