Friday was a sad day as bidders came to pick up their items. However, the stories I heard were heartwarming and I got to share some with them also. Matt and his wife had been looking for a "fruit painting" for their dining room. A lady wanted the songbooks to take when she visits her neighbor at a nursing home because she enjoys singing to her. The stereoscope went to Norma who lost theirs in a fire. The Mt. Vernon fire department needed a Bunn coffee maker, and a young man bought it for them. (the cups, too!) A gal bought the oxygen equipment for her dad and the busts went to a man's daughter who collects them. Jenny told her husband he needed to buy the bookshelves for all his books that are in boxes. Two little girls loved the musical characters so, of course, grandpa bought them. All the tables and chairs went to a couple in Cambridge who want to open a restaurant. An employee was happy to get boxes of adult briefs and bed pads for the nursing home where she worked. Oh, the van! A cleaning company was excited to be the winning bid as they had been looking for a nice one in their budget. "It's like new!" she said. Knowing things were going to special places helps with this process. Thank you to all who bid.

With heavy hearts, we have found it necessary to close affective July 1 due to a declining occupancy the past two years. It has been an honor and a joy to care for and know hundreds of wonderful residents and family members from here, surrounding counties, and as far away as Texas, Arkansas, and California! Their stories will forever be told.

We feel pride that our dedicated staff enabled us to receive the highest ratings in the Resident and Family State Satisfaction Surveys in over 800 Ohio assisted living facilities.

We thank all of you for your kind words and support over the last 18 years.

While praying one night for each resident and staff member, the words "they'll be alright" came over Mona and gave her peace. The resident's strength has shown us that they will. Our hearts remain full.

God has blessed us.
