🚨🚨🚨🚨Therapist Spotlight 🚨🚨🚨🚨

Hello! My name is Tiana Woodard, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome life’s challenges, heal from difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I earned my Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College and also hold a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling, allowing me to provide specialized support to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. I am additionally certified in Targeted Case Management for both SED and SMI populations, giving me a unique understanding of how to connect clients and families to essential community resources while addressing their emotional and behavioral needs.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care. I strongly believe that every individual is the expert of their own story, and my role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.

I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs, with my primary modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Play Therapy for younger children. I specialize in helping clients develop emotional regulation skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and increase overall well-being.
I am passionate about providing affirming and inclusive services to individuals within the LGBTQ+ community. I offer a safe and supportive space for clients to explore identity, navigate life challenges, and process experiences related to relationships, family dynamics, and minority stress. I also provide psychoeducation to clients, families, and caregivers to promote understanding, strengthen support systems, and support overall emotional well-being.

🚨THERAPIST SPOTLIGHT 🚨

Hello, my name is Kayla Norfleet (she/her/hers), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA). My journey in this field started right here in Louisville, where I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Louisville in 2018, followed by my Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Spalding University in 2022.

Before working with Morning Star Counseling Services, I spent over six years as a crisis counselor and gained invaluable experience working in residential youth treatment and college counseling centers. These roles deeply shaped my development as a clinician and my passion for supporting people through their toughest moments.

Today, I work with a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, adults, and couples. My primary areas of focus include anxiety and depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, grief, burnout, family dynamics, and behavioral concerns in children. Above all, I am dedicated to providing a BIPOC-friendly, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and deeply inclusive space where every client feels safe, seen, and supported.

Because no two stories are the same, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all method. I use an integrative approach, which allows me to blend different therapeutic theories to create a single, cohesive, and completely customized plan centered entirely around your unique needs and goals.

🚨 THERAPIST SPOTLIGHT 🚨

Hello! My name is Kori Calvert, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) dedicated to creating a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves.

I graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in August 2025 and completed a year-long internship with Morning Star Counseling Services before becoming licensed in October 2025. Since beginning my work as a therapist, I have truly loved building meaningful connections with clients and walking alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges.

My therapeutic approach is primarily rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe therapy should be collaborative, practical, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, and create meaningful change while learning to live in alignment with their values.

While I enjoy working with clients across the lifespan, I have a special passion for working with adolescents and young adults. My professional experiences include providing services in diverse settings, including healthcare environments and group settings within high schools, where I worked closely with teenagers facing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.

I offer both in-person and telehealth services and strongly believe in meeting clients where they are. I strive to provide flexibility, understanding, and genuine compassion, recognizing that every person’s journey is different. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, or simply feeling stuck, my hope is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

I look forward to helping you take the next steps toward healing and growth.
