June 22, 2026 - and I drive 2 hours out of the city to check out which did not disappoint and it’s always fun to just ride along with a friend. Then we got way too many soup dumplings at ugly dumpling 🥟 and I fell asleep on the ride back! 💤 sorry Sam! She dropped me off at nitehawk and and I did a double feature of Backrooms and Obsession bc rain was coming down in sheets. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw my friend (since literal birth) was also in town and mere blocks away!! So we met up around the corner from the theater for a couple rounds and a snack. How wild is that?! ☔️🌧️☔️

June 21, 2026 - Forced myself into the frigid cold ocean for a Summer Solstice baptism! Rockaway was high on the list of must-do’s on this trip, mainly for Tacoway Beach fish tacos which were even better than I remembered. Also got and I some strawberry Suntory -196 which I’d like to find locally because it was the best seltzer I’ve ever had! Some crazy new architecture by the Williamsburg bridge, my old LES apartment with a terrace and then off to Hekate Cafe & Elixir Lounge for the Enchanted Card Party to see my mentor for a reading. Had the honor to meet some nyc legends like but also got the chance to hold Chip and Lula (the dogs) which is also an honor in my book!
What a magical day! ☀️

NYC - June 20, 2026 In one day I went to 4 boroughs and Jersey, ended up doing more than 17k steps before I went to bed that night, which is a lot even for a NYer. This was day one of my trip, and I mangled my feet pretty good within the first few hours, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me. Staten Island ferry, Empire State Building walk, World Trade Center and subway dogs, just tourist s**t and then took myself to dinner and saw Mamdani. On the news. 😂 invited me to an amazing gladiator themed birthday costume party and I took a car back to my hotel because I was pooped. Day 1.
