Intra-oral work: SO much more than a trick to calm crying babies! 👶

We often do intra-oral work in our office. For babies specifically, we aren’t just letting them suck on our finger for a few minutes to keep them from crying.

We’re doing so much more than that!
✅ We’re assessing the rhythm of your baby’s suck and the strength of their tongue.
✅ We’re assessing your baby’s TMJ and jaw for alignment.
✅ We’re feeling the motion of all of their cranial bones. Tension in cranial bones can often be felt and adjusted from the palate (roof of the mouth).
✅ We’re assessing the bones of the palate for tension and releasing them. The palate is innervated by the vagus nerve, so releasing the palate regulates the vagus nerve and often creates calm throughout the body.

So, YES, intra-oral work can calm a restless or crying baby, but it’s also a vital part of their chiropractic treatment! ⭐
