Afterglow New Parent Group is our weekly drop-in group where new moms come together to share the roses and thorns of this stage of motherhood.

Afterglow groups are co-facilitated by a team of parents who’ve been there and know how hard it can be to navigate those long days and nights with a new baby. And we've got some new facilitators to introduce!

First up is Meg Byron (she/her). Meg found a passion for breastfeeding and empowering mothers after becoming a new mom herself! Her breastfeeding journey was a life-changing experience that fueled her drive to change career paths. She’s currently interning with Bonnie Knows Breast as she works towards her IBCLC certification, growing and learning with her 2 young boys, and crafting and playing outside every chance she gets!

----------------------------
Afterglow is a great way to practice getting out of the house with your baby. Make new friends. Get a weight check for your baby. Purchase any feeding supplies like pump parts or a probiotic for you or baby at The Pump Bar located inside Bonnie Knows Breast!

Come as you are, no such thing as late and inclusivity is our vibe! We are inclusive and supportive of all genders and family structures.

First visit is always free, and pre-registration is not required for this weekly drop-in group.
----------------------------
We meet every Wednesday from 10-11:30am at Bonnie Knows Breast! And starting this month, ALSO every third Saturday.

So mark your calendars for:
August 15th
September 19th
October 17th
November 21st
December 19th

It's World Breastfeeding Week 2026!

Breastfeeding begins long before the first latch—it starts with education, support, and access to skilled care.

While exclusive breastfeeding has increased globally to 47%, early initiation within the first hour remains at just 48%, reminding us that many families still need better support from the very beginning.

This year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," is a call to invest in the people and practices that help families succeed.

Every feeding journey deserves compassionate, evidence-based support.

Today is the first day of World Breastfeeding Week 2026!

Every breastfeeding journey deserves evidence-based support. 💛 This World Breastfeeding Week 2026, let's celebrate the progress we've made while continuing to strengthen the systems that help families thrive.

Breastfeeding changes lives—and tracking what works helps us support even more families. I'm proud to stand with the global community in promoting evidence-based lactation care and advocating for every family's feeding goals. Together, we can protect, promote, and support breastfeeding—for healthier babies, parents, and communities.

Our next Afterglow Foundations series begins next week on Thursday, August 6!

If you gave birth in June or July this summer and are looking for your community, this is the place for you. Afterglow Foundations brings together trusted community experts to guide you through this 4th trimester season with evidence-based education and real-life support.

And just as important as the education is the COMMUNITY. A consistent group of parents walking through the same stage alongside you. Because the strongest foundations aren’t built in isolation.

Summer is the perfect season to fill your own cup and lean into the support you deserve. As routines shift and schedules open up, it can be a beautiful time to reconnect—with yourself and with a community that understands this season of life. 💛

Thinking about coming back to Afterglow? We’d love to welcome you.

We especially welcome those with a bit more flexibility right now—teachers, caregivers, and anyone enjoying a slower summer rhythm. There is always a place for you here.

Each Wednesday from 10:00–11:30am at Bonnie Knows Breast, we gather in circle—a space for connection, support, and shared energy. Together, we hold the roses 🌹 and thorns 🌿 of life with a new baby, and remind one another that we were never meant to do this alone.

Summer can be a wonderful time to invest in yourself, nurture your well-being, and build the kind of village that carries you through every season.

We are here, and we’d love to welcome you back.
