Due to KY’s abortion ban with no exceptions, we are working everyday to restore abortion access, educate Kentuckians of the facts of abortion care and provide a platform for healthcare professionals to highlight the devastating harms to public health.

How sick should a patient have to become before her doctor is allowed to provide the care that could save her health or life?

Should physicians face felony charges for providing the standard of care their patients need?

No patient should be forced to wait until her condition becomes critical.

Physicians are trained to prevent medical emergencies - not wait for them. Yet Kentucky's abortion laws force doctors to choose between providing the care they know their patients need and risking felony charges. That impossible choice is driving physicians out of Kentucky and making it harder to recruit and retain the doctors Kentucky families need.

Patients deserve medical decisions based on science and professional judgment - not politics.

Do Kentuckians have a constitutional right to abortion? That question remains unanswered.

As this attorney explains, the Kentucky Supreme Court did not decide whether the Kentucky Constitution protects the right to abortion. Instead, it issued a procedural ruling that makes it much more difficult to bring that constitutional question back before the Court.

Until that question is answered, Kentucky patients remain unable to make deeply personal healthcare decisions for themselves and their families. They continue to face delays in standard medical care, life-threatening risks, and the burden of traveling out of state for care.

Kentucky is losing the next generation of doctors. Due to abortion bans, many of us are choosing to train—and ultimately practice—in other states, where we can receive comprehensive training in treating pregnancy complications, provide evidence-based care without fear of felony charges, and practice medicine without state laws interfering in medical decisions that belong between patients and their doctors.

We also have concerns about our own health and safety when starting families in states where standard medical care may be delayed or restricted by law.

When Kentucky loses future physicians, everyone loses access to healthcare.

This isn't a future problem. Due to Kentucky's abortion bans, It's happening in Kentucky right now.

Kentucky's extreme abortion bans gave a Kentucky couple only days to make one of the most painful decisions of their lives. After learning that the baby boy they were preparing to welcome would not survive as he had no lungs, Kentucky's overlapping multiple abortion bans forced a rushed decision. They were denied the time to grieve, consider the risks to her health, and make decisions on their own terms. Instead, they were forced to act under an arbitrary legal deadline. No family facing this kind of heartbreak should have to race against the clock because of state abortion bans.

The life-saving care Emily received is a standard treatment for pregnancy complications. Under Kentucky's extreme abortion ban, that care is now illegal, even when a pregnancy has no chance of survival. Patients must travel hundreds of miles out of state for standard medical care.

Jesus healed the sick. Welcomed the outcast. Defended the vulnerable.

But according to a Christian scholar, Jesus never said a word about abortion. Neither did Paul. Neither does scripture.

“I think it’s significant that Jesus said nothing about it—yet politicians center their arguments on it.”

If you’re a person of faith, you deserve the full picture.

Faith should never be used to justify putting women's lives in danger. A Kentucky medical student speaks out "When Faith Is Used To Deny Medical Care"

The Bible offers guiding principles about compassion and moral responsibility. It is often cited as justification for abortion restrictions. But Scripture does not explicitly mention abortion, nor does it define it as a sin. Interpretations vary, and in a state as diverse as ours, no single religiou

Kentucky healthcare providers are caught between their oath and the law:
"I noticed the hostile environment we're living in, where physicians don't feel safe providing the care they know their patients need."

Doctors are leaving. Medical students are choosing other states for their residencies with no plans to return. And Kentucky families are left with fewer health providers.

This is what the abortion ban is costing us.
