Often times, we are working with clients that want to go home. But our care can help them know they are still loved. We really feel it is a blessing to serve our clients in these times. Ms. Sheila explains it well.

What happens when an outside hitter has to pinch-hit for one of your all-stars? This summer we ran into that scenario, and this time the all-star really helped the rookie succeed. I invite you to listen to Anna Powell’s Peacemaker Story. Anna is very talented and has a huge heart. You can also check her out this fall on ESPN pounding spikes for Georgia Southern University in her sophomore season. Go Eagles! And thank you Anna for being a clutch performer!

Something a little different today. As a sign of solidarity for a client going through chemo, I took a page out of the Notre Dame Football’s book. This is what I shared with my caregivers.

Good afternoon TEAM! As you know, our client is going through chemo this week. As a sign of solidarity, I took some inspiration from Notre Dame Football's Chaplain, Father Nate Wills. Before every game he gives every player a holy medal of a saint to inspire them through something specific for that game. You may know that Notre Dame is a Catholic school and holy medals area "Catholic thing", but not all the players are Catholic. Everyone still gets a medal.

That being said... I am giving everyone on this Team a St. Michael the Archangel medal and prayer card. I will leave it on his bar. St, Michael pray for us and protect us in battle, especially or client’s battle with chemo.

The cards with the medal are on the bar. There are enough for our team and about 10 family members. Let me know if you need more.

Talk about full circle! Our caregiver, Sheila started her working career for my parents at Heitzman’s Bakery. She talks about her first job at Heitzman’s and the similar environment at Peacemaker and how we are different than other agencies.
