Doulo is our male/dad-centered doula training, created to equip men with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to support families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.

We’re talking birth support, labor, postpartum care, lactation, newborn development, and what it really means to be present.

Because fathers and men aren’t just observers in the birth space — you belong in the circle of care. 🖤

Our doulas were learning, laughing, connecting, and having FUN all weekend long! 🤎

Because when you create a space where people feel comfortable, supported, and free to be themselves, the learning hits different.

We’re building knowledgeable, confident, compassionate doulas and we’re going to have a good time while we do it! 🥰

🌸 Another Doula Training in the books! 🌸

There is something powerful about a room full of people choosing to learn, serve, and show up for families during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives.

This weekend, we welcomed aspiring and passionate doulas for an impactful training focused on knowledge, advocacy, hands-on learning, and compassionate support.

Training doulas is one of the ways we invest directly in our community and build a stronger network of support for birthing families.

To every new doula who showed up ready to learn: welcome to the work.

Dads deserve to be supported, educated, and equipped, too. 💙

This weekend, we successfully hosted our Doulo Class — a male- and dad-centered doula training designed to equip men with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to show up for their partners and families before, during, and after birth.

We talked. We learned. We participated. We asked the hard questions. And most importantly, we created space for men to understand that their presence matters.

Because being a supportive father and partner during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is more than just “being there.” It’s knowing what to do, how to advocate, how to listen, and how to provide meaningful support.

We’re proud of every dad who showed up ready to learn and committed to becoming an even stronger support system for his family. 👏🏾

This is what community care looks like. This is what involved fatherhood looks like. And this is just the beginning.

✨ Restored. Empowered. Reimagined. ✨

Black Birth Justice had the honor of attending Leadership Reimagined in New Orleans.

As leaders, advocates, and changemakers, we spend so much of our time pouring into our communities, supporting families, and advancing reproductive justice. Leadership Reimagined reminded us that leaders need spaces to be nurtured, supported, and poured into as well.

Through transformative peer coaching, meaningful conversations, and phenomenal facilitators, we gained new tools, fresh perspectives, and a renewed sense of purpose. We arrived excited and curious. We left feeling restored, empowered, and ready to continue the work with even greater intention.

Thank you to the Ms. Foundation for Women for investing in leaders and organizations committed to creating lasting change. We carry these lessons, connections, and inspiration back to Louisville and into every family and community we serve.
