Have often felt our expectations of the horses was off base, especially at altitude. Hopefully we can build on this.

Researchers found horses hauled about 186 miles experienced biochemical signs of oxidative stress for up to 48 hours after transport, while a shorter trip produced only minor changes.

These contests have always been run as a free contest where everyone can show up and compete. Just bring your own bar stock.
This one is no different, it is still free to attend and compete! However, we have a friend,Darrin Schaffner, that is going to be out of work for a while and we are trying to have a small fund raiser for him and his family to try and help with the extra expenses that come along with not working (deductibles,feeding your family at the hospital etc.)

So we are asking anyone that is able to donate a $50 entry fee to go directly to the family. Because of these there will be prizes that will be given to first place in the novice and the open. These are being generously donated by Yukon Forge and John McNerney. If we have a large turnout we will have a second place prize as well!

Everyone is welcome! Please feel free to donate even if you are not able to attend or compete!

Brenda Santillanes commenting from Lingle Wyoming. Our farm will have 44 days of irrigation water this year. A normal year is over 100 days. Largest cow/calf sale last week at our Torrington livestock auction of 9000 cattle. These cattle are normally fall sale but due to no feed farmers are selling.

Came by this post today. The decreased hay production is a multi regional issue this year. Supplies will be low. Quality will likely suffer. Costs will be increasing. Start sourcing now. Be willing to pay. Expect board rates to increase. Test what you get and adjust grains & supplements to make things work.
