This month, we’ll be talking about CPTSD, trauma, healing, and recovery. 🌿
Whether you’re just learning about complex trauma or recognizing pieces of your own story, I hope these posts help you better understand yourself and your experiences.
When you’ve experienced trauma, keeping people at a distance can feel safer than risking being hurt again.
What starts as protection can sometimes become isolation.
Many people with CPTSD learned early on that vulnerability wasn’t always safe.
It makes sense that opening up can feel uncomfortable.
A wall says, “No one gets in.”
A boundary says, “This is what I need to feel safe.”
There is a difference.
Healing isn’t about removing all protection.
It’s about learning which protections still serve you and which ones may be keeping you stuck.
Boundaries allow connection.
Walls prevent it.
Recovery isn’t about becoming a different person.
It’s about feeling safe enough to be yourself.
