PROLAPSE- The postpartum season. What you need to know about the first 6 weeks! ⤵️

The first 6 weeks postpartum are so important to help prevent a prolapse. REST. REST. REST.
The time during those first 2 weeks after having a baby are so important for resting and bonding. That is your #1 job those 2 weeks.
If you have older kids, try not to pick them up. Have them come to you for snuggles and hugs.
Do not try to do chores or active exercise during those first 2 weeks. If you do too much, you are more likely to have a prolapse because your ligaments are loose and they are not able to support your organs.
The best way to support your body during this time is to rest as much as you are able!!!

As we run into the summer heat don’t forget to stay hydrated!
Keep your pelvic floor healthy as we enter a hot summer.
👋Most people who leak or have to p*e often limit their fluid intake to decrease their symptoms. 🛑
This can cause the bladder to be dehydrated and can actually worsen symptoms.
💦 Stay nice and hydrated this summer to protect the health of your bladder and your pelvic floor muscles.

Happy June!

Men's Health Month... A look at Erectile Dysfunction. The answer is often more than the pill marketers have talked about on ads!

What really happens?
ED can come from several different factors including, but not limited to:
Vascular Issues
Neurological Issues
Injury or Surgery

At Insight Pelvic Health we help men find the root cause of the problem. Pelvic Floor PT can help if the conditions causing ED are physical, it will not be the answer if the reasons are emotional or psychological.
Pelvic floor physical therapy can absolutely help if you are experiencing erectile dysfunction.
A typical session is filled with a lot of education on things you can do at home to help your progress. We will do an assessment of your spine, feet, hips, and pelvis. We will evaluate your nerves and we will also assess your pelvic floor muscles to see if they are strong, are able to relax, and have good coordination.

•••World Bedwetting Day •••
The topic we don’t discuss enough with all of the points included.

A few key focus points⬇️
•Sometimes it can be related to constipation.
•Both children and adults can experience this.
•There is a connection between the brain and the bladder!
•Remember the bladder is a muscle about the size of your fist!

Today we pause to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice: Thank you. Your courage will never be forgotten.

THE PELVIC FLOOR SHOULD WORK WITH THE REST OF YOUR BODY! From your toes all the way up to your jaw!
The pelvic floor muscles usually do not need to work in isolation. It is important that when working on pelvic floor strengthening, it is paired with a more functional movement. Talk to your PT today about what functional movement you should be training with your pelvic floor.
