Day one of this weeks theme: Apples!! Oh fall is coming and so are some of my most favorite units!

Today we focused on Apple tree sensory bins and Apple market dramatic play. We worked on scooping, pouring, sorting, stacking, counting, and stretching our imaginations, just to name a few!

This summer we’ve been enjoying spending lots of extra time outside playing in the water and creating in our mud kitchen, and we’ve also been learning about BUGS! What better time then when we are exploring outside, to learn about our crawly neighbors! When we finish the unit we will each have a big bug book packed with our bug art, bug facts, our experiments, and more to take home!

We are pleased to announce the availability of two full-time positions at Puddle Ducks. As most families choose to remain with us until their children reach the maximum age limit, this presents a rare opportunity for enrollment. If you are seeking licensed home-based care that combines engaging activities with educational instruction to prepare children for kindergarten, we encourage you to enroll now!

With St Patrick’s day this week we celebrated what we call Color Week all week. Each day we celebrated a different color, we all dressed in that color, learned about that color, and even ate foods that color. That part was probably the most challenging yet fun part! Here is a breakdown of what we ate this week during our rainbow week!

Red day: spaghetti, kidney beans, and strawberries
orange day: Mac n cheese, diced carrots, oranges
Yellow day: scrambled eggs, buttered toast, bananas, hash browns
Green Day/ st Patrick’s day: green peas, cheese quesadilla with Spinach tortillas, green grapes (also green Jello and a st pattys day cookie!)
Blue & purple day: Blue corn chip nachos, blueberries, blueberry muffin, and a blueberry, pear, and purple carrot purée

What fun is was to try to try some new flavors!
