Wesley B. Ross, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11 am at The Worship Center West Campus (TWC). Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. Wesley B. Ross aka “Uncle Bull” was born on September 16, 1947, in Madisonville, TX to his parents Willie B. and Eva G. Ross. He was the tenth of 10 children. He attended Dunbar High School and graduated in the year of 1965.

Wesley married Ruth McCullar in Lubbock, Texas and shared 40 years together.

Wesley attended The Worship Center (TWC) under the leadership of Pastor Todd Turnbow until his health began to decline. Wesley professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior.

He retired from Diamond Plastics where he was employed for 40 plus years.

Wesley is preceded in death by his father Willie B. Ross, his mother Eva G. Ross, his sisters Mattie Lee Goodwin, Vivian Johnson, Eva Mack, and Esther Cleavland “Ester”, his brothers Johnnie J. Ross, James A. Ross, Willie B. Ross Jr., and Leslie Joe Ross.

Wesley leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Ruth McCullar Ross, his sons Darren ross, Shannon ross, Michael Ross, Michael Burch, and Tim McCullar, a long time friend Alvin Shepard, the three amigos J.C., Robert, and Jerry, his ten grandchildren, his two great-great grandchildren, Aunt Ruth, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Anthony Dwayne Thomas II, age 43, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 1pm at Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Private Disposition will follow under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4pm to 6pm at Griffin Mortuary. He was born March 14, 1983, in Lubbock to Patricia Carl and Anthony “Tony” Thomas. After graduating from Coronado High School. He held several jobs doing customer service and food prep. He was the assisted manager at 50th Street Caboose before becoming ill. He will deeply be remembered for his quick humor and unwavering love for his family. Always love lending a helping hand.

Anthony also was an old soul with his tv shows and music. He loved God, playing dominos, spades, and loved Dallas Cowboy.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Elizabeth Carl and James Evans, his paternal grandparents Jackie Hill and Patricia Thomas, his great grandparents Bertha Thomas, his aunt Jamye Hill, his uncles Nathaniel Davis and Darnel Thomas.

He is survived by his parents Patricia Carl and Anthony “Tony” Thomas, his sister Shameka Butler (Leditt), his nieces Heavenly Butler and Khristian Butler, his great nephew Honor Taylor, granddad Berdine Thomas, his aunts Ruby Davis, Carol Thomas, Bridgett Chambers, and Lisa White, his uncles Dennis Davis and Marvin Davis, his godmother Shirley Richardson, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

LaTonya Holland, 51, was called to her Heavenly Home on July 27, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11 am at Griffin Mortuary. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. LaTonya Holland was born on January 20, 1975 to Evelyn Moeujuku and Tommy Lee Collins. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. LaTonya was a loving individual who cared for others, especially family. She had two older brothers Alfonso and Curtis Holland. She was a mother, wife, sister, gigi, cousin, and much moree. LaTonya graduated from Monterey High School and attended South Plains College.

LaTonya met Anson Lyons during high school and have been together for over thirty years. Togther they took in and raised her cousins as their own. It was nearly impossible for her to bear children, but God granted a miracle, on March 8th, 2005, LaTonya and Anson welcomed Aniyah Lyons to the world. LaTonya lived through many memories of get togethers, graduations, and spending time with her many grandkids.

LaTonya is preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Moeujuku, her son Cedric Holland, and her brother Curtis Holland.

LaTonya leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Anson Lyons, her father Tommy Lee Collins, her daughters Aniyah Lyons, Roslyn Patton, and Isha Coleman, her sons Terrance Coleman, Colby Coleman, and Shandon Coleman, her brother Alfonso Holland, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Nona Jean King was born on March 15, 1952 in Floydada to Luther Harris and Rosie McDonald. She went home August 26, 2026, at Plainview Healthcare surrounded by family after a long illness. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. She was the life of the party, loved to dance, and spend time with her family. She never met a stranger. She loved going to games and would be the loudest there.

She is preceded in death by her father Luther Harris, her stepfather Independence McDonald, her mother Rosie McDonald, her husbands Curtis Thomas, Willie Acy, and Jimmy King, her three brothers Billy Harris, Clyde Harris and Joe McDonald, her sister Lela Harris, her son Curtis Thomas, and her niece Alia Harris.

Winston was born on April 15, 1963, to the parents of Mattie Caraway and Vester Caraway. Winston accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He graduated from Estacado High School and later attended Texas Tech University.

Winston was a loving father, brother, and cousin. Winston was well known in the community. He was the life of the party.

He is preceded in death by his father Vester Lee Caraway, his mother Mattie Caraway, and his grandmother Margreather Perkins.

Sharon walked through this life with an unshakable, radiant Christian faith. Her relationship with God was the quiet anchor of her existence, guiding every word she spoke and every action she took. She didn't just talk about faith; she lived it out daily through boundless grace, patience, and love.

A true caretaker at heart,

Sharon had a natural gift for nurturing everyone around her. Whether she was tending to her family, offering a listening ear, or caring for those in need, her presence was a safe harbor. Her spirit was remarkably gentle—she possessed that rare kind of warmth that instantly put people at ease and made everyone feel like family.

Yet, beneath her serene and gentle exterior lived a wellspring of joy. Sharon loved to laugh and had an infectious, beautiful smile that could light up the room. She was also an absolute connoisseur of dad jokes, never failing to deliver a wonderfully cheesy pun with a twinkle in her eye, or laughing the hardest at her own punchlines. That lightheartedness brought endless sunshine into the lives of those she loved.

Above all else, her greatest earthly joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of deep devotion:

Her devoted husband of fourteen years, Vernon, who was the love of her life and her favorite partner in crime for sharing a laugh.Her cherished sons, Ryan and Jordan Vance, who were her pride and joy, and whose lives are forever shaped by her unconditional love and godly example.While our hearts ache with the heavy burden of her absence, we take comfort in the promise of faith that she held so dear. We know she is now resting in the arms of her Savior, likely sharing a smile and a gentle joke with the angels.

Brittani Lazah Simmons was born on February 16, 2000, to Isaac Sr. and Kimberly Simmons.

She graduated from Estacado High School and went on to serve as a correctional officer with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). She was funny, hardworking, loved to dance but she was shy, sweet, kind, and respectful. She was great in athletics.

Brittani is preceded in death by her mother Kimberly Simmons, her grandfather James Lee Chavez, her maternal great grandparents, and her grandfather Isiah Bowman.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Nanny. As per her wishes, there will be no formal services held. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Nanny, who was born on December 10, 1952, was the daughter of Juan and Erlinda Rodriguez. She was a cherished sibling to Charlie Rodriguez died in 2010, Thomas Rodriguez died in 1944, Luz Arriaga, Liz Anthony, Gilbert Rodriguez, Rhonda Rodriguez, and Juan Jr Rodriguez.

Erlinda was married to Mario Arcos Sr. from December 23, 1971, until their divorce on October 16, 1990.

They were blessed with a son, Mario Arcos Jr., who currently resides in Lubbock, Texas with his wife, Anna Arcos. Erlinda was a devoted grandmother to Mario III and Angelina Arcos and to Brenden K. Arcos, and a loving great-grandmother to Josephine Amaya Arcos, Cyrus Aries Arcos, and Aaliyah Jaylen Arcos.

She found happiness in making blankets, spending time with her puppy, she had lots of nieces and nephews that she loved. She attended for many years at Living Word of Faith Church, under the guidance of Pastors Frank and Mirella Tello.

Jasmine Nicole Ragsdale, 31, transitioned Monday, August 3, 2026 to her eternal rest. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11am at St. John Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. With heavy hearts, we celebrate the beautiful life of Jasmine Ragsdale whose love, kindness, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother whose greatest pride and happiness were her children. She loved them with all her heart and created countless memories filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable dance parties at home, where smiles were endless and every moment was a reason to celebrate.

She cherished her family and friends deeply and always made them feel loved, supported, and appreciated. Her caring heart extended beyond those closest to her as she generously volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, where she offered compassion, comfort, and hope to families during some of their most difficult times. Jasmine worked at Walmart as a team lead for 11 years before attaining her CDL license.

Her legacy is one of selfless love, generosity, and joy. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the memories she gave us, the lives she touched, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, devoted daughter and sister, treasured by family members, loyal friends and a light in the lives of so many.

Her love will continue to live on through her children, Landon and Laila Washington.
