🇺🇸 A Life of Service, Laughter, and Love

Some people leave behind more than memories. They leave behind laughter, lessons, and a lifetime of love that continues long after they're gone.

Today, we remember Derrel Lorenz, who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at the age of 76.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Derrel dedicated his life to serving his country, working hard, and loving his family. But those who knew him best will remember something else: his wonderful sense of humor, his playful sayings, and his ability to bring a smile to just about anyone's face.

From dancing around the living room with his wife, Mary Jane, to singing "My Brown Eyed Girl," Derrel understood that some of life's greatest moments are found in the simplest things.

His legacy isn't just in the years he lived, but in the lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he leaves behind.

On behalf of everyone at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Lorenz family. Thank you for allowing us the honor of caring for your loved one.

🕊️ Remembering Steve Ray Cordova

Some people have a way of making life a little brighter, a little easier, and a whole lot more fun. Steve Ray Cordova was one of those people.

Steve was known for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his ability to bring laughter into just about any situation. Whether he was spending time with family, sharing stories with friends, fixing something that seemed impossible to repair, or talking about his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Steve had a way of making ordinary moments memorable.

Above all, Steve loved his family, valued his friendships, and understood that some of life's greatest moments are simply the ones we spend together.

🕊️ Remembering Justo “Gus” Mendez

Some people leave behind more than memories. They leave behind stories, laughter, lessons, and a legacy that lives on through everyone who knew them.

Gus was a proud Vietnam veteran, a hardworking man, a devoted family man, and someone who knew how to enjoy life. Whether he was riding his motorcycle, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, or spending time with those he loved, Gus lived life on his own terms.

Those who knew him will remember his strong voice, his unmistakable personality, and the kindness behind it all.
