A beautiful life isn't the one that looks good. It's the one that feels good.

It's waking up feeling at peace.
It's being yourself.
It's having relationships that feel good.
It's building a life that actually aligns with your values.

Because what's the point of looking successful, happy, or fulfilled if that's not how you actually feel?

Stop asking, "How does this look?"

Start asking, "How does this feel?"

Save this post so you can come back to it when you need it most.

As a MH provider, here are my thoughts on Lindsay Clancy’s trial. There are a lot of aspects that need to be addressed surrounding her husband, no doubt. But—but if all the evidence is examined and reexamined and it shows she is the one who is responsible, I have no doubt she was in a total mental break.

She was trying so hard to get help. At the very least, her husband failed her in that he left her multiple times even tho he says she told him of her child harming and self harming thoughts. Unacceptable by that man. The mental health professionals should have educated him very intentionally that he cannot leave her alone—even when she seems better. He sure shouldn’t leave her alone with three kids while he was away for two nights among so many other times. There has not been enough emphasis on this point.

Lindsay Clancy is not a calculated, cold-blooded mother with traits of narcissism (or more) like Casey Anthony. Like Susan Smith. She’s not that mother. She demonstrated for years she was a loving, caring mom—maybe so dedicated and taking on so much as a parent that she broke. She was suffering a tsunami of mental challenges and if you have the luxury of not understanding how hard mental challenges can be, then that’s a blessing for you but you honestly need to remove yourself from judgement since it’s a health challenge your DNA spared you.

And regardless of who is responsible, my heart goes out to Lindsay Clancy. No matter what occurs or unravels going forward, she will carry this awful pain for a lifetime. We have all of these mantras these days, “Mental Health Matters,” and posts of mental health awareness but then when we have someone in our community who is obviously suffering, a large part of the of the population wants to crucify her? That’s not ok. Mental health doesn’t just matter—IT’S EVERYTHING—and the mental health community, definitely including me, can learn to be better bc of this tragic situation. My heart is with LC. 🌸🌸🌸

There is the act itself, and then there is everything the act comes to represent.

What was broken? What was lost? What can no longer be taken for granted?

These are some of the fault lines of betrayal.

From Google, yes, but all spot-on accurate about how running mitigates depression.

Running helps with depression because it triggers powerful chemical and physical changes in the brain. It boosts mood-lifting neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, releases natural endorphins and endocannabinoids, and physically grows new nerve connections in brain areas that regulate mood.

Brain Chemistry-
ChangesEndorphins and Endocannabinoids: Running causes your body to release natural feel-good chemicals that lower pain and create a calm, happy mood.Serotonin and Dopamine: It raises levels of brain chemicals that target focus, joy, and emotional balance.

Growth Factors: Regular running builds new brain cells and strengthens connections in the hippocampus, a part of the brain that shrinks during high stress or depression.

Mental and Behavioral BoostsStress Relief: Physical exertion burns off extra nervous energy and lowers the body's primary stress hormones.

Sense of Control: Finishing a run builds mental toughness and a personal sense of success.

Distraction: Moving your body breaks the cycle of negative, looping thoughts.

Closure was never theirs to give you. It was always yours to build, alone, without their permission, without their participation.

Food for thought 🤍
