Your friend got "her lips done." Your other friend got "her lips done." You're looking at both of them and the results look completely different. They probably had completely different treatments.
A lip flip and lip filler are not the same procedure. They use different products and produce visibly different results, and choosing the right one depends entirely on what you actually want to change.
A lip flip uses 4-6 units of neurotoxin (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, or Xeomin) to relax the muscle above your upper lip. The lip rolls slightly outward instead of tucking inward. There's no added volume, just a slight repositioning of how your lip sits at rest and when you smile. Effect lasts 6-8 weeks. Best for patients who want a subtle upper lip change without committing to volume.
Lip filler uses Restylane Kysse, the only hyaluronic acid filler FDA-approved specifically for lip augmentation. It adds real, measurable volume to the lip itself, defines the lip border, balances upper-and-lower proportion, smooths vertical lip lines, and creates a more sculpted profile. Results last up to 12 months and are reversible if you don't love them.
Some patients get both ("the lip combo") for the most balanced result.
