Such great advice!! Honor your body and all it has carried you and your baby through. š
āOh, hey body.... you did it.
Hours postpartum.
Covered in a mess of vernix, blood, sweat, and tears āquite literally.
Surrounded by new best friends: a peri bottle, diaper sized pads, and mesh un**es.
A stretched tummy that housed this baby, skin indented from all of the monitors present during labor.
Sore and stiff from the trauma your body just endured.
Tired as youāve ever been, yet in a state of long lasting adrenaline.
But, you did it.
You nourished 2 lives for 9 months.
Now itās our turn to nourish you.
Thinking not of the societal standards...
The āplease have kids, but donāt look like itā
The āplease raise them right, but donāt look tiredā
The ātry to breastfeed, but cover it upā
The āfeel good about your parenting choices, advocate for yourself, but do XYZ.ā
The āget back in those Pre pregnancy pants ASAPā
The āhave s*x with your partner as soon as youāre clearedā
The ārespond to all of your babyās needs, but dear lord, donāt spoil themā
What is this madness?!
Donāt put a timeline on our recovery. Birth is mental, physical, and emotional all in one. Itās HUGE. HUGE.
Let us care for, respect, and nourish these bodies that cared for, respected, and nourished our baby growing within us.
Let us make our parenting choices and LET US FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT!
We had 9 months of pregnancy. We didnāt shoo it away. We didnāt brush it off. Let us have postpartum too. š¤š¤ā ā ā”ļø
